Blake Lively posts a quote on Instagram amid Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit

Blake Lively posted a cryptic quote on her Instagram Stories on April 7, 2025, amid her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

The quote read, “It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine,” and was attributed to Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. Lively shared an image of flowers on a tree branch with water droplets, set to the song Little April Shower from the 1942 animated film Bambi. She added an animated “April” sticker with rain over a flower and included an image of Eeyore.

The post follows escalating legal tensions between Lively and Baldoni over the 2024 film It Ends with Us. The lawsuit began in December 2024 when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and launched a retaliatory smear campaign. Baldoni denied the allegations and countersued Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicity team for defamation and extortion. The court scheduled the trial for March 2026.

In January 2025, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds. Both filed motions to dismiss the suit, calling it “frivolous” and citing California laws against retaliation for disclosing sexual harassment. Baldoni’s legal team opposed the motion, stating it was “abhorrent” for Lively to “dismiss herself from the self-concocted disaster she initiated,” and referred to Reynolds as “a key player in the scheme.”

In December, legal expert Gregory Doll, a partner at Doll Amir & Eley in Los Angeles, told People he expects the parties to settle before the 2026 trial, though he is not involved in the case. He added, “It’s very nasty, and I think it’s going to get nastier.”
