Cookie Run: Kingdom – What Are Topping Tarts & How Do They Work?

There are lots of different ways to make your cookies more powerful in Cookie Run: Kingdom. As players progress throughout the game, they can feed their cookies star jellies and skill powders to increase their level and help them face various enemies. Applying toppings and beascuits is the main way players can improve a cookie’s specific stat, which allows them to amplify areas that are already a cookie’s strong suit, or improve where they may be lacking.
A brand-new way to improve a cookie’s abilities has recently been introduced into Cookie Run: Kingdom—Topping Tarts. Though older players may not be thrilled to see yet another way of building cookies being added to the game, their concept is very straightforward and won’t take much getting used to. So, what exactly are Topping Tarts, and how can you collect them?
What Are Topping Tarts In Cookie Run: Kingdom?
Topping Tarts essentially act like a sixth topping slot, but without any substats—so while swift chocolate toppings grant cookies a bonus to their cooldown stat, swift chocolate topping tarts do the same. Like toppings, tarts can come in common, rare, and epic categories. Most of the time, the best choice of topping tart is going to be the one that corresponds to the toppings a cookie has the most of.

All Cookie Run: Kingdom Codes (March 2025)
In Cookie Run: Kingdom, players will want to use the latest codes to build their kingdom and recruit more cookies to jumpstart their path to victory.
There currently are no resonant topping tarts, so you just need to match the tart to the general topping type. The cookie will receive a small bonus for every matching topping a tart is placed with. For example, a Searing Raspberry Tart will give the cookie an 8% bonus to attack if there are three raspberry toppings equipped, and a 10% bonus if five are equipped. This is particularly useful for fully maximizing certain stats, but also for balancing them out if you’ve equipped more than one type of topping.
How To Obtain Topping Tarts In CRK
Collect The Right Resources By Sending Cookies To The Mines
Alongside Fire Spirit Cookie, Cookie Run Kingdom’s “The Fire Awakens” update also introduced a new section of the game called “Into The Depths.” Here, players can send their cookies to mine for certain resources, and is currently the only way to collect materials for topping tarts. You can create tarts from Flour Stone, Sugar Ore, and Butter Amber in the new workshop. Flour Stone is relatively easy to obtain, and can be mined from Salty Tart Veins.
Topping Rarity |
Ingredients |
Materials When Broken Down |
---|---|---|
Common |
50 Flour Stone |
1 Tart Essence, 3 Flour Stone |
Rare |
10 Sugar Ore, 100 Flour Stone |
7-9 Tart Essence, 7 Flour Stone |
Epic |
1 Butter Amber, 20 Sugar Ore, 200 Flour Stone |
43-47 Tart Essence, 100 Flour Stone |
Sugar Ore can be found in rarer “Sweet Power Gem” veins, but is also obtained from “venturing” into the mines, which is very similar to sending cookies on balloon expeditions, but has a limit on time-skipping. Collecting Butter Amber is a little trickier, and can currently only be purchased from the Mine Shop for 200 Tart Essences, which you can get from breaking down other topping tarts. This means you have to craft lots of lower-rarity tarts before you can craft an epic one, and you’ll have to spend some time on this to get the tart you want.
After venturing far enough into the mines, you can collect high-rarity soulstones which have been trapped in slime by Agar Agar Cookie.
When you craft a topping tart, only the rarity will be guaranteed, and the type will be completely random, so you should be careful when breaking down epic tarts and make sure to keep the ones you may need in the future—these will likely be searing raspberries, swift chocolates, and solid almonds. The only way to obtain a specific topping tart is from a choice chest, which are very few and far between, so make sure you don’t take these for granted in Cookie Run: Kingdom, and equip every cookie in your Kingdom Arena team with the right tart.
