Will Taylor Frankie Paul Lose Her MVP Status on ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 2?

When The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives first hit Hulu in September 2024, no one could’ve predicted that TikTok’s chaotic queen, Taylor Frankie Paul, would emerge as its breakout star. But emerge she did—gloriously, dramatically, and with a Diet Dr. Pepper in one hand and a bombshell revelation in the other. Taylor wasn’t just in Season 1—she was Season 1. From the moment she appeared on-screen, viewers were glued to her every confession, every group text drop, every side-eye in a white Jeep. Whether you knew her from the “soft-swinging” TikTok scandal or came in the cold, Taylor’s presence was undeniable. She gave what needed to be given. She was raw, she was unpredictable, and she gave zero filtered responses.
She managed to turn what could’ve been a short-lived TikTok infamy into long-form storytelling gold. Bravo-style, jaw-on-the-floor, I-can’t-believe-she-said-that gold. And fans noticed. Reddit threads, TikTok recaps, Instagram lives dissecting every frame—Taylor was the center of it all. Whether you loved her, hated her, or fluctuated between the two within the same episode, she ended up winning Season 1, but the real question is, can Taylor do it again?
The Road to Season 2- Everything We Know
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 premieres May 15 on Hulu, with 10 new episodes (and 10 more already confirmed for later). Taylor’s still in, and so are Jen Affleck, Demi Engemann, Jessi Ngatikaura, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, and Layla Taylor. Missing last season’s Whitney Leavitt? Don’t worry—she’s back too, and she’s not exactly playing nice. “They’re holding grudges because I don’t even know why,” Whitney says in the teaser, already re-stirring old beef that never really cooled. The real bombshell, though? A new cast member with a very old connection to Taylor: Miranda McWhorter.
Miranda’s name has loomed in the background of Taylor’s story since day one. In 2022, Taylor sent shock waves through MomTok when she admitted to “soft swinging” with other couples, while going through a divorce from her then-husband Tate Paul. At the time, Taylor kept details vague. But internet sleuths pointed fingers at other MomTok wives, including Miranda and Camille Mundy.

The reality star embraces motherhood amid health struggles.
Now, in a move no one saw coming (except Taylor), Miranda is officially joining the cast. She makes her entrance in the Season 2 teaser, sauntering into a western-themed party in a straw hat and black cutoff shorts. “Is that Miranda?” one wife gasps. “That’s the girl who was swinging with Taylor,” another whispers. According to Taylor, their reunion won’t be pretty. “There’s some animosity there,” she admitted in a 2024 Us Weekly interview. “I’ve called her out on certain things. I don’t know if she’s a huge fan of me.” Translation? Expect fireworks.
Taylor vs. the World (Again)
The Season 2 teaser makes it clear: Taylor isn’t done battling personal demons or interpersonal drama. She’s shown butting heads with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. “I don’t want to fight with you,” he says. “Then don’t,” she snaps back. Meanwhile, castmate Jen may or may not be holding a positive pregnancy test (she later confirmed her third pregnancy), and her marriage to Zac Affleck—already strained in Season 1—is front and center once more. Elsewhere, chaos reigns: two men throw hands (one dressed like a Chippendale), the police are called to a group event, and someone is seen holding back tears behind sunglasses.
And then there’s the overarching question: can this group of women keep #MomTok alive—or will the weight of scandal, secrets, and very public call-outs be too much to handle? Producers Jeff Jenkins and Danielle Pistotnik have promised that Season 2 won’t just lean into the drama—it’ll dig deeper into the lives and faith journeys of these women. “There are so many stories that these women have to share,” Pistotnik said. “Their upbringing is unbelievably heartbreaking… and it is so inspiring to listen to.”
Can Taylor Keep Her Crown?
But let’s be real: as much as the show explores Mormon identity, ex-Mormon unravelings, and modern motherhood, it’s also pure soap. A little redemption and a lot of messy brunches. In Hulu’s own words, Season 2 will see the group led “into temptation,” as old wounds reopen and alliances shift. “When an original swinger from their infamous sex scandal makes a surprise return, friendships threaten to unravel as secrets, lies, and allegations explode,” the network teased.
Taylor was made for this show. But with Miranda’s arrival, Whitney’s return, and new skeletons spilling out of old closets, her throne isn’t exactly secure.
If Taylor wants to remain the MVP of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, she’ll need to do more than rehash Season 1. She’ll need to evolve and escalate. It’s a delicate dance, but if anyone can cha-cha through controversy, it’s Taylor. After all, as Demi Engemann says at the end of the teaser: “Honestly, the show must go on.” And for now, it’s going on with Taylor still at the center of the storm. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is available to stream on Hulu in the U.S.
