There’s something human about Rutledge, even if he went on finding the solution to his grievances in the wrong way (via Entertainment Weekly).

Homelander, on the other hand, is just a bad guy with no principles. Yet compared to Rutledge, The Boys‘ supe isn’t as smart and can be easily manipulated. Because of Homelander’s lack of self-control, Rutledge is the worst villain because he is a great strategist.
