Over the years, Coachella has featured electrifying performances from many renowned artists. However, fans who have been attending the popular music and arts festival have often wondered how much do the artists and performers get paid to perform at the event.

So, here’s all you need to know about how much do stars get paid to perform at Coachella.

Here’s how much artists get paid to perform at Coachella

Coachella has never officially revealed how much the artists performing at the event make. However, various online reports suggest that the performers get paid money ranging in millions. The reports further suggest varying amounts for each of these artists’ Coachella income.

For example, Daft Punk, who appeared in Coachella 2006 but was not one of the leading performers, reportedly got paid $600,000. Meanwhile, Radiohead supposedly made $1 million for his headlining of the festival back in 2004.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, who was one of the headliners for 2023’s Coachella reportedly got paid $5 million (via Trapital Podcast).

According to Page Six, The Weeknd demanded a $8.5 million payday for his Coachella performance in 2022, which was originally supposed to be paid to Kanye West until he dropped out of the event.

Furthermore in 2019, Ariana Grande reportedly made $8 million for her two-weekend headlining stint at Coachella (via Variety). As per Billboard, Beyonce reportedly made somewhere between $8-$12 million for headlining Coachella in 2018. Additionally, in 2017, The New Yorker reported that Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead each made $3-4 million for headlining Coachella in 2017.

However, none of these artists have ever confirmed or commented on their Coachella pay. Cardi B is the only artist who has spoken about how much she actually made for Coachella. In a 2018 interview with SiriusXM, the rapper mentioned that she earned $70,000 each weekend she performed. However, she also noted that she spent $300,000 to build her set in Coachella.

Coachella 2025 has currently finished one weekend from April 11-13. The next set of performances will take place between April 18-20.
