Tina Fey, Steve Carrell, and Colman Domingo Are Best Friends in New ‘The Four Seasons’ Trailer

Navigating an already strained marriage is difficult enough on its own, but doing it with friends — on a vacation, no less — makes it sound like an exciting getaway. That is the premise present in Netflix’s upcoming star-studded comedy miniseries, The Four Seasons, starring Tina Fey, Colman Domingo, Steve Carell, and more. The series will center on three couples and long-time friends as they unpack the ups and downs of their lives, as well as their marriage, throughout the course of four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. It is set to arrive on the streaming platform on May 1, 2025.
The new trailer for The Four Seasons introduces long-time friends as they reflect on their decades-long friendship over one dinner together. Little did they know, Carell’s Nick — married to Kerri Kenney-Silver‘s Anne — is already plotting a divorce. As Nick puts it, they “sit in the same room monitoring different screens” like “co-workers at a nuclear facility.” But the other two couples aren’t picture-perfect either. Over the course of four seasonal vacations, the series will follow how Nick’s action changed their friendship’s dynamic and altered their seasonal getaway tradition, opening up new and old wounds in the process. It was also later revealed that Nick replaced Anne with a young woman, played by Erika Henningsen.
‘The Four Seasons’ Is Based on the 1981 Movie of the Same Name
Netflix’s new series took inspiration from the 1981 Alan Alda-directed movie, titled The Four Seasons. It is a well-loved feature, with a 76% Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score. The acclaimed feature, which starred director Alda and Carol Burnett, is also a hit with audiences, with a 74% score against more than 2,500 ratings. The new iteration of The Four Seasons will also feature Marco Calvani (High Tide) as Claude and Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) as Jack, with Colman portraying Danny. In addition to starring, Fey co-created the series alongside Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield.
Along with the main cast members, the upcoming series also stars Julia Lester, Taylor Ortega, Ashlyn Maddox, Jacob Buckenmyer, Jack Gore, Toby Edward Huss, Tommy Do, Chloe Troast, Simone Recasner, and Cole Tristan Murphy. The original film’s director also produced the series. The logline reads:
“There are friends for a reason, and friends for all seasons – The Four Seasons follows long-time friends through the ups and downs of life over the course of four seasonal vacations (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter). Together they have a lot to unpack.”
