The latest episodes of General Hospital have left fans on edge as Kai Taylor decides on his surgery, which Portia had earlier said she couldn’t recommend. Now, it seems Kai has made up his mind about whether he wants to go ahead with the risky experimental surgery in hopes of reviving his football career. But what has he decided?

No, General Hospital’s Kai hasn’t undergone the surgery yet, but he has made a firm decision to go through with it.

In the General Hospital April 15 episode, Trina was seen expressing to Ava how she is concerned that Kai might just go through the experimental surgery Drew suggested. It bothered her how Kai might be risking paralysis or even his life if he decided to do so. Even though Ava tried to calm her down by suggesting that Portia, who from the beginning has also been against it, might just be able to change his mind. However, she further added that Trina needs to respect whatever Kai chooses to do.

Then, as Trina met Kai later, he told her that he was going through with the surgery. He further explained that even though he thinks it’s a long shot, he needs to take this up as it might help him get back to football, the game he loves so much. Even so, Trina doesn’t step back from expressing her concern again, but she chooses to be by his side as he assures her that he has an inkling that it will all go well.

For those unaware, Portia, a medical professional, had already made her stance clear in the April 14 episode. After reviewing the experimental surgery, she bluntly told Kai that the statistics were grim—only two successful cases out of several attempts, with three patients left paralyzed. Yet, Kai refused to back down, and now he will be soon going through surgery in General Hospital.
