Not everyone has had the chance to participate on HGTV’s Rock the Block. And even those who do, very few have had their chance at redemption. Winning isn’t everything, but for this rehab diva, she’s hungry for a win. She wants to see her name on that street sign. Who is she? Alison Victoria! Back again for Season 6, she is the official queen of the block, entering the game for the third time.

The Windy City Rehab star has proven time and time again that she loves good, clean competition. But when it comes to this game, she has yet to net an overall victory. Until she wins the entire show, chances are that she’ll keep coming back for more. But there is one element of Rock the Block that she has continued to dominate: the kitchen. There’s a reason why she’s 3-0 in the kitchen challenge on Rock the Block. Let’s dissect why.

Alison Victoria Dominates Again in the ‘Rock the Block’ Kitchen

In the Rock the Block Season 6 premiere, the four pairs of teams started their journey on the block. Alison, with her new partner, Rock the Block Season 4 winner Michel Smith Boyd, and Jonathan and Jordan Knight represent the veterans. Cole and Chelsea DeBoer and Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama represent the rookies.

Once host Ty Pennington welcomed them to Utah, he shared that this season is bigger and better, with new twists and challenges every step of the way. The season kicked off with the big challenge: renovating the kitchen and dining room, with a twist. Not only do they have to complete those spaces, but the living room was added into the mix. The pressure was on as the kitchen is the heart of the home. And Alison Victoria knows that.

During her first two stints on the show, she was successful at winning the kitchen challenge both times. Would she make it a hat trick? She sure did! This season, while every other team went with a neutral color palette, playing into the Utah landscape, Alison and Michel went bold.

This season, with the blind judging twist, they didn’t know that the former Queer Eye star, Bobby Berk, would be walking into their kitchen, but they certainly catered to his desires as it fit his design aesthetic. Alongside her new partner, guest judge Berk gave their jade and bronze-inspired space top marks. But we shouldn’t be surprised. This is her bread and butter. The kitchen is where Alison shines. And it makes complete sense.

Alison’s rise to fame in the television world started with a kitchen show. As the star of DIY’s Kitchen Crashers, Alison knows her way around exceptional kitchen design. The unique show, the first in the Crashers series to be woman-led, followed Alison as she helped willing weekend warriors fix up their kitchen.

Once she found her targets, Alison completely transformed their dull kitchen into an eye-popping showstopper. Throughout nine seasons, she showcased her skill, which eventually netted her own HGTV show. Her ability to not only know what makes an appealing visual, on top of a practical haven, is essential to her trio of victories on Rock the Block.

Alison Victoria Wants To Win ‘Rock the Block’

As she said back in Season 1, “I’ve designed over 140 kitchens, so if I don’t know what I’m doing here, then I don’t deserve to win. I know what’s going to up the value of any property — the kitchen being the most important.”

During Season 1, it was a solo game, which meant Alison had complete creative design of her Los Angeles area home. Spending a massive chunk of her budget on the space, the Kitchen Crashers alum installed floor-to-ceiling shaker-style cabinets, a stone slab backsplash, a kitchen island with a quartz waterfall countertop, and a commercial-grade stove topped with a custom brass hood. While she won a few battles, she didn’t emerge victorious.

Without a victory to her name, her return for Season 2 was her chance at redemption. Now, paired with Mike Holmes of Holmes on Homes fame, the duo was eager to capitalize on her previous season’s success in the kitchen. With 500 kitchen renos between them, they used their skills to wow the judges. The wow factor introduced into the space was the stunning brick arch range. Alison was gung-ho about painting it white, but Mike changed her mind. Thankfully, it was the right move.

Alison’s wealth of knowledge was on full display in this Season 6 challenge. While the blind judging allowed everyone to be on even ground, Alison’s ability to know how to stand out and still deliver something extraordinary is why she received a three-peat. Perhaps had it not been for blind judging, she and Michel would have been graded harder due to their previous success. Instead, their talent and artistry spoke volumes. While they may have won the battle, it’s now time to win the war.

Will the Realtor and appraiser find the same passion for the space as Bobby Berk did? That’s what Rock the Block is all about! As the season goes on, expect her to utilize her experience on the block to continue to dominate the season. Will the third time be the charm for the HGTV star? If she has her way, it will be!

Rock the Block airs Mondays at 9:00 pm on HGTV. All episodes are available to stream on Max.
