Hopefully, it isn’t too itchy.
There’s more to grinding resources in RuneScape Dragonwilds than just picking up some logs, stones, and ores. You’ll make various materials that lead to gear and workstation upgrades alongside fun decorations for your base, with rough cloth being an important component for late-game equipment improvements.
Where to craft Rough Cloth in RuneScape Dragonwilds
You can make rough cloth by using coarse thread in a loom. Three pieces of coarse thread make one rough cloth, making it relatively inexpensive if you have enough raw materials for this process.

This recipe differs slightly from Wool Cloth, which uses wool thread instead of its coarse variant. The key difference between the two is the required materials to make these threads. Aside from that, the process is about the same.
Coarse Thread recipe
You can make coarse thread by using flax and coarse animal fur in a spinning wheel. You can find flax all over Bramblemead Valley, while coarse animal fur drops from Kebbits. You can use three furs to make the thread or one flax, depending on what you have on hand.
How to make a Loom in RuneScape Dragonwilds
After collecting coarse threads from flax and animal fur, it’s time to make a loom. You can build one using Ash Planks, Bronze bars, and wool threads. You can produce these materials using a sawmill and furnace.

Be prepared to venture into areas like Fractured Plains to uncover these blueprints and their required materials. You can make bronze bars using copper and tin ore, while wool thread comes from fleece and soft animal fur from Fractured Plains animals. Ash logs aren’t difficult to come by, but you’ll need to process them in the sawmill.
With every item on hand, place down your loom before inserting your coarse threads in it. They’ll turn into rough cloth to use in various crafting recipes.
How to use Rough Cloth in RuneScape Dragonwilds
By itself, rough cloth doesn’t have many uses aside from making Wizard Robes. Its true power comes from upgrading your loom, letting you combine rough and wool cloth to make padded cloth. Padded cloth is one of the most important resources in RuneScape Dragonwilds when it comes to acquiring gear upgrades.
For every padded cloth you want to make, you’ll need one rough cloth and one wool cloth. However, you’ll need a Loom Harness, which uses oak logs, iron bars, and ram horns in its blueprint. You’ll have to venture deeper into Fractured Plains toward Stormtouched Highlands to obtain these resources, upgrade your loom, and make some padded cloth.
Alternatively, you can stick with Wizard Robes if you grab some Wild Anima from Anima-Infused Bark. You can get this bark from a special tree in the Fractured Plains before heating it in a kiln to create Wild Anima. If you’re in the mid-game and going a full mage build, they’ll give you some nice magic defence and set bonuses for wearing all three pieces.
