The Pitt Season 2 Already Has The Perfect Cameo To Give Noah Wyle’s 31-Year-Old Medical Drama Its Best Reunion

As The Pitt season 1 comes to an end and season 2 is confirmed for production, the hit medical drama can now add in a cameo that would reunite Noah Wyle with one of his ER co-stars after 26 years. First released in January 2025, The Pitt follows the emergency department staff at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital, led by senior attending, Dr. Robby. Over the course of a 15-hour shift, Robby and his colleagues deal with the dreary everyday tasks of ER physicians, while also tackling massive issues such as prejudice, violence, and grief.
Aside from being an incredibly riveting and medically accurate series, part of The Pitt’s allure is its reunion of Wyle, John Wells, and R. Scott Gemmill. Wyle took on the role of John Carter in ER from 1994 to 2009, while Wells and Gemmill acted as executive producer and writer respectively. Now, all three have returned to create The Pitt, and the magic of ER is definitely alive within the series. Of course, this has led many to wonder if other members of the ER crew will make an appearance in Wyle’s new hit project.
George Clooney Making A Cameo In The Pitt Season 2 Would Be A Fantastic ER Reunion
Who Else Could Make An ER Cameo In The Pitt
Now that The Pitt season 2 is definitely happening, the series has a chance to do some fan service by introducing cameos from other ER cast members. One of the most notable would likely be George Clooney, who portrayed pediatric doctor Doug Ross from 1994 until 1999, prior to striking it big in the film industry. For five seasons, Clooney and Wyle worked side by side on ER, so seeing Clooney appear in The Pitt would be a perfect reunion moment for fans of both series. Plus, it would be nice to see Clooney return to his roots.

The Pitt Season 2 Release Window Revealed As Max Plans To Release New Episodes Every Year
A new update has arrived for The Pitt season 2, revealing that Max has ambitious plans for the hit medical drama to release new episodes yearly.
Clooney is certainly one of the most A-list celebrities to come out of ER, but he isn’t the only one whose cameo would be exciting. Anthony Edwards, Julianna Margulies, Linda Cardellini, and John Stamos are other actors who played pivotal roles in the medical drama. In terms of actors who had strong bonds with Wyle’s ER character, an ideal cameo would be from Eriq LaSalle, who played Carter’s mentor, Peter Benton. In a similar vein, Maura Tierney played Carter’s off-and-on love interest, Abby, for several seasons, and could make a fantastic cameo.
Noah Wyle Already Discussed Wanting To Work With George Clooney Again After Their Recent Reunion
Would Clooney Appear In The Pitt?
When it comes to Clooney making a guest appearance in The Pitt, Wyle has already made his desire for this known. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Wyle discussed his plans to reunite with Clooney during the latter’s run of his new Broadway show, Good Night and Good Luck. In fact, this meeting of the stars already took place. Wyle was joined by Margulies and Edwards. With the two actors coming back into each other’s lives, there is the possibility that Wyle could pitch Clooney a role for The Pitt’s next installment.
Really, the only question that remains is whether Clooney would actually do it. Considering the current state of his career, it seems possible. At the moment, Clooney is performing on Broadway, and later this year, he is set to star in Noah Baumbach’s newest film, Jay Kelly. It has been several years since Clooney appeared on television, but The Pitt may just be his perfect gateway back in following this new string of exciting projects.
