6 Below Deck Down Under Season 3 Cast Member Who Likely Won’t Make It Past This Season (They’re One Hit Wonders)

Below Deck Down Under season 3 has delivered on its signature mix of high-stakes drama, yacht crew chaos, and shocking moments as they travel around the waters of Seychelles, but some of the crew members seem like one-hit wonders who won’t be back for another season. Throughout Below Deck’s franchise history, there have been some yachties who are more obviously going to stick around for more than just a season, while there are others who are either going to be fired or last the duration of a season. As Below Deck Down Under continues, the current yachties are being assessed.
Below Deck Down Under season 3, which has been taking place aboard superyacht Katina, has been dealing with demanding guests, navigating surprising interpersonal dynamics, and taking everything in stride as the leadership of Captain Jason Chambers has been under scrutiny all season long. While some of the yachties have appeared to be a good fit for the franchise, others may only be appearing on the current season before moving on to other opportunities both in the yachting industry and otherwise. While it’s not uncommon for some yachties to only appear just once, viewers hope for yachties who can stick around.
Though some are interested in one season on the franchise before moving on, most Below Deck yachties are hopeful that they’ll become fixtures on the series before moving into higher-ranking roles, even some hopeful to become captains on their own. Below Deck Down Under season 3 has been no exception to this desire, and while the pressure is on for the yachties to perform well throughout the season, the majority of the crew seems hopeful to advance their careers in the industry. Unfortunately, with green deckhands who can’t find their legs and stews who have struggled, things haven’t been easy.
Some Below Deck Down Under season 3 yachties have had shining moments, but those brief flashes of potential haven’t been enough to overshadow the massive red flags that viewers have seen on the show this season. In a franchise where fans expect strong personalities, real professionalism, and at least a little reality TV flair, being forgettable or difficult to work with can be the kiss of death. The Below Deck Down Under yachties who don’t manage to deliver enough, don’t have enough skill, or don’t have a good mix of both likely won’t last after the rest of this season.

Johnny Arvanitis
Deckhand
Although Johnny made an immediate impression on Below Deck Down Under season 3, most of his time aboard the Katina was spent working diligently and proving his value to the crew. During the early charters, Johnny consistently demonstrated his ability to contribute meaningfully and complete tasks with efficiency. He worked well alongside his fellow deckhands, including Wihan Du Toit, and easily integrated into the exterior team, bringing his experience to a yacht of that size with confidence. His efforts early in the season positioned him as a dependable team player who understood the demands of life in the yachting industry.

In addition to following orders well, Johnny was capable of stepping into a leadership role when the situation called for it. With ten years of experience in the industry, he knew when to take initiative and when to fall in line. However, as the season progressed, his budding romance with Alesia Harris began to complicate things, and a bit of mistaken identity pushed Johnny to lose his temper. He was distracted, making a split-second decision that cost him his job. By the end of his time on Katina, it was less surprising when Captain Jason decided to terminate him.

Adair Werley
Deckhand/Stew
Adair Werley, who joined Below Deck Down Under season 3 as a deckhand/stew, has been interesting throughout the season, but hasn’t necessarily been up to part in her work ethic. While Adair has been a fun yachtie to watch, her time aboard Katina hasn’t been too strong. Despite the fact that she seemed prepared to jump into any role, Adair doesn’t have a lot of yachting experience and her role switching from the interior to the exterior team sometimes makes it hard for her to be able to keep up with the pressurized charter season.
Although Adair could improve now that Wihan has been terminated and she won’t be distracted by their strange flirtationship aboard Katina, her tome on Below Deck Down Under hasn’t felt promising in the first half of the season. Though Adair has been learning more and doing a better job at moving into her dual role, she hasn’t been able to assert herself in a way that makes sense for the rest of the crew, which has pushed her to struggle and left her less memorable than some of the other newly minted Below Deck Down Under season 3 cast members.

Wihan Du Toit
Bosun
Wihan joined Captain Jason’s team as bosun with nine years of yachting experience. Despite his qualifications, he made a series of careless mistakes throughout the season, which led him to a terrible endpoint for his time on Below Deck Down Under. Wihan allowed guests to use a damaged jetski, which nearly sank while carrying a guest who couldn’t swim, barely skirting a tragic accident. Then, during a beach excursion, Wihan stayed aboard while others scrambled to manage the outing when things went wrong. Wihan’s consistent mistakes made it clear that he wasn’t up to par as a manager, continually struggling.
Captain Jason began to notice the growing feelings of negativity aboard and warned the crew he wouldn’t tolerate it, but he didn’t realize quote how bad things had gotten. The breaking point for Wihan came when Johnny caught the bosun in bed with Alesia, despite previously warning Wihan about his flirtatious behavior. This incident prompted Johnny to act out in anger, and Captain Jason to take a closer look at Wihan’s consistently poor track record. After hearing complaints from several crew members, Captain Jason chose to terminate Wihan, who isn’t likely to be invited back for a second charter season.

Marina Marcondes de Barros
Stew
Although Marina Marcondes de Barros has been working hard as a stew aboard Katina, it’s clear that she’s been having a tough time on Below Deck Down Under season 3. Her inability to move through conflict with ease has been noticed by viewers, but her work ethic has made up for the issues she’s faced throughout the charter. While Marina has been able to use her abilities to her advantage throughout the season thus far, her struggles in creating a healthy working relationship with her Chiew Stew, Lara Rigby, haven’t helped her to look like a great fit aboard Katina.
Although Marina does have a point when it comes to Lara and her alleged grouchy behavior, it’s been clear that her inability to work with an authority figure aboard Katina is an issue. Even so, she’s been doing a decent job with her role as a stew, and Captain Jason has even picked up on the fact that she’s able to do her job well. Even though Marina may have the ability under her belt, it hasn’t been easy for her to move through the season, and she hasn’t been a standout part of Below Deck Down Under season 3.
2
Brianna Duffield
Stew
Although Brianna Duffield has been part of the Below Deck Down Under season 3 crew, who’s been in a boatmance with Harry Van Vilet this season, she hasn’t been compelling enough to hold the attention of most viewers. While Brianna, a stew who’s originally from New Jersey, may have been one of the interior department team members aboard Katina, but with very little experience, she’s often having trouble keeping up with her fellow stews. Though Brianna has had a few issues, the majority of her time on screen has been focused on her Below Deck Down Under season 3 boatmance.
As Brianna has moved throughout the season, she’s been working hard to keep things going aboard Katina, but her abilities haven’t necessarily been the problem aboard the superyacht. Instead, Brianna’s boatmance with Harry has been a struggle for viewers to get into. While Harry is a fan favorite, Brianna is new and putting some pressure on the deckhand to move more quickly than he’d like. Though Brianna may be hopeful about things with Harry, her pressure on him and her lack of memorable moments mean she likely won’t return to the franchise again, at least not in the same capacity.
1
Alesia Harris
Sous-Chef
As one of the newest members of the Below Deck Down Under season 3 cast, Alesia came into the Katina crew with something to prove. After taking over for fired sous-chef Anthony Bird, who’d struggled in playing second fiddle to chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph, Alesia had to make her mark on the crew quickly. Proving herself with her dishes and helpful moments with Tzarina, Alesia’s done a decent job proving her worth. She’s been doing her best and hoping that it will be enough for Tzarina and the Below Deck Down Under guests, but her performance has been underwhelming at times.
While Alesia’s cooking has been helpful aboard Katina, the issues she’s faced with the rest of Below Deck Down Under’s crew have been more difficult. After getting into a boatmance with Johnny, it’s been clear that Alesia’s had a tough time moving through the charter season with ease. Seeing Johnny fired could be really difficult for Alesia, or it could make her double down on the job. Either way, it doesn’t feel like Alesia is going to be a repeat figure on Below Deck Down Under or anywhere in the rest of the franchise.
Below Deck Down Under airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
