Star Wars Celebration 2025 has revealed new plot details and returning characters for Ahsoka season 2. During Lucasfilm’s Ahsoka panel with Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Rosario Dawson, and Hayden Christensen, new insights were revealed about what fans can expect from the second season.
Star Wars Celebration is on its second day in Japan, and Screen Rant is in attendance to provide all the biggest news and reveals from the galaxy far, far away. This includes new details for Ahsoka season 2, revealed via an exciting concept art trailer Dave Filoni put together, inspired by the original teaser for The Empire Strikes Back. Here’s our description of the new and exclusive Star Wars footage:
Using John Williams’ classic Star Wars end credits fanfare, the teaser is narrated in classic 80s fashion as various concept art images and character stills are shown:
“Grand Admiral Thrawn has returned! The Imperial Remnant is growing in power! Who will be able to stop them?”
“In the continuation of the Star Wars series, our heroes must confront enemies in two different galaxies, as they battle the forces of evil.”
“We return to old friends, encounter the power of the occult, and battle ancient machines with a dark and terrible past, culminating in an awesome confrontation between Ahsoka Tano and the fallen Jedi Knight, Baylan Skoll!
“Ahsoka Tano!
Sabine Wren!
Ezra Bridger!
Hera Syndulla!
The Droid Huyang!
Chopper!
And introducing…Garazeb Orellios!”
“In the continuation of the Star Wars series, Ahsoka season 2!”
Thrawn’s face then appears in a fiery explosion, just like in the original Empire Strikes Back teaser.
The Ahsoka panel also revealed several other exciting character returns, such as Hayden Christensen coming back as Anakin Skywalker, as well as Admiral Ackbar going head-to-head with Admiral Thrawn himself. It was also confirmed by Dave Filoni that the Mortis gods will continue to be explored, though he admitted that he’s still rewriting elements ahead of Ahsoka season 2’s filming (which is confirmed to start next week).
