What happens in the First Moon trailer?

The video features Esposito as a young werewolf who gets kidnapped by a religious cult, which plans to torture her as a way to prevent her from becoming a werewolf before her first moon. It highlights the challenges she’ll face at the hands of the cult, while also teasing her transformation as a werewolf.

First Moon is written and directed by Peter McLeod, with Tanya Esposito serving as a producer. The cast will also include Julian Curtis as Thomas, Shannon Ryan as Elyse, Soren Jensen as Father Torquemada, Mitchell Slater as Matt, Yasmin Langlois as Monique, Anthony Ciccotosto as Marcus, and more. The movie’s creature design is handled by Emmy Award-winning SFX artist Thomas E. Surprenant, who’s known for his work on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The Grinch, Halloween H20, The Cat in the Hat, and more.

“We all agree that werewolves are monsters,” McLeod said in a statement. “But I wanted to delve a bit into the idea of what makes someone monstrous. We vilify people in the real world so easily, but psychologically, if you dig down far enough, very few people are truly evil. They’re just damaged.”
