Where Was It Filmed & Shot?

Curious where Tom Hardy’s gritty new crime thriller MobLand was filmed? Guy Ritchie directs the series, which takes place in London’s criminal underworld. It features a mix of iconic city spots and hidden countryside estates. As the Harrigan family’s empire grows and tensions escalate with rival gangs, each location adds to the show’s intense atmosphere.
Here’s a breakdown of all the filming locations featured in MobLand.
List of Mobland’s filming locations where it was shot
The production team primarily filmed MobLand in the UK and Belgium. They used key locations in London, Gloucestershire, and Antwerp to capture both urban and rural backdrops for the gangster narrative.
- The production team filmed the opening restaurant shootout at The Midland Grand in the St Pancras Hotel, London. They shot the kitchen scene separately in a smoked fish factory in Chalk Farm. According to supervising location manager Steve Mortimore, “There were a few complaints about the fish smell – I remember Tom Hardy came in, squeezed his nose and smiled” (via Time Out).
- The production team filmed the Harrigans’ countryside estate at a private residence near Stow-on-the-Wold in Gloucestershire. Mortimore noted, “We didn’t want to go too The Gentleman with a huge mansion.” The original script described the property near a river, but the team chose a lakeside home for logistical reasons.
- The production team filmed Harry Da Souza’s apartment in a penthouse near Charing Cross Station. Mortimore said, “Filming there was hard work, but it was worth it. The views are magnificent.”
- The production team shot Eddie Harrigan’s nightclub scene at FOLD nightclub in Canning Town. Mortimore added, “I’m sure it will be knocked down and redeveloped, so they’ll have to find another club for season two.”
- The production team filmed Moody’s Gym scenes at Peacock Gym in Canning Town, which served as a neutral ground for criminal negotiations.
- They filmed the West End club scene at Loulou’s in Mayfair.
- They shot the hospital scenes in a disused wing of Hemel Hempstead Hospital, replacing the scripted Homerton Hospital.
- The pub used as Richie Stevenson’s base was The Tooke Arms on the Isle of Dogs.
- The production team filmed Kevin Harrigan’s warehouse scenes in Leamouth, near The O2.
- Additional locations include Elstree Studios and Antwerp, Belgium.
