Buckle Up For a Thrill Ride with Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins in ‘Locked’ Extended Sneak Peek [Exclusive] -

Is your Tuesday off to a boring start? Need a little excitement to boost your spirits, but you’ve already had your two cups of coffee? We’ve got you covered with an exclusive extended look at Locked, just in time for the movie’s digital arrival today, which will be followed by its physical release on August 26. From the mind of filmmaker David Yarovesky (Brightburn) and scribe Michael Arlen Ross (Oracle) comes a non-stop, pedal-to-the-metal, high-octane flick that promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Toss in leading performances from two-time Academy Award winner, Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs), and horror king, Bill Skarsgård (Nosferatu), and you’ve got an action-packed thriller that simply won’t so much as tap on the brakes.

Our 10-minute exclusive sneak peek of Locked gives fans a good idea of the high-stakes thrill game going on between the movie’s main players, Eddie (Skarsgård) and William (Hopkins). Picking up well into the film, we see Eddie locked in the ride of his life, speeding through the streets in a luxury SUV controlled by the omnipresent William, who watches the man’s struggle through hidden cameras. Night turns into day with Eddie still trapped inside, before William decides to take things even further by bringing the trapped man’s daughter into his wild game. All the while, William’s voice can be heard over the sound system, lecturing Eddie on the error of his ways.

Hopkins and Skarsgård are two powerhouse performers who collide to bring the off-the-rails magic and pure energy to a fever pitch during Locked, but the film also has some mega-star power backing it. Serving as a producer on the project is iconic genre filmmaker Sam Raimi. Of course, we love Raimi for his Spider-Man trilogy that saw Tobey Maguire star as the web-slinging hero, but the helmer has also given us some of the biggest scares of our lives thanks to his creation and direction of the Evil Dead franchise and Drag Me to Hell.

‘Locked’s Incredibly Short Production Time

The real wonder behind Locked comes with its wildly short production time, which saw the film shoot in a whopping 19 days total. During a Q&A session hosted by Collider’s Perri Nemiroff following the movie’s world premiere, Yarovesky opened up about the “joyful” experience of shooting the project in such a short amount of time.

“We shot it in 19 days, so it felt like there was a bomb strapped to my chest. It was a joy to work with [Skarsgård]. It was a joy to make this movie. It was a joy to see it come together, but it was terrifying. This is an independent film. Bill, he’s here, and Anthony Hopkins is in the movie, and Sam Raimi, and you look at it, and you go, ‘Oh, that looks like a big movie. It’s on a big screen!’ But it was a tiny, little movie. I’m not kidding you when I say that we all put blood, sweat, and tears in it. The joy was believing in what we were making and going, ‘Alright, it’s going to hurt, but we’re going to make it. I believe in it.’ If that sounds exciting to you, you’ll probably be a filmmaker.”
