The video introduces Cena as an action movie star-turned-U.S. President who has rivalry with Elba’s character, who’s the UK Prime Minister. However, they must set aside their differences after both becoming targets by an unknown foreign enemy. The trailer also provides fans with a glimpse of some of the movie’s fast-paced action sequences as Cena and Elba’s characters have no choice but to team up for the sake of saving the world.

Heads of State is directed by Ilya Naishuller (Nobody) from a screenplay written by Josh Appelbaum & André Nemec and Harrison Query. The ensemble cast also includes Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Stephen Root, Sarah Niles, Richard Coyle and Paddy Considine. The movie is executive produced by Elba, Cena, Marcus Viscidi, Josh Appelbaum, and André Nemec, with Peter Safran and John Rickard serving as producers.

“In the film, the UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke and U.S. President Will Derringer have a not-so-friendly and very public rivalry that jeopardizes their countries’ ‘special relationship.’ But when they become the targets of a powerful and ruthless foreign adversary — who proves more than a match for the two leaders’ security forces — they are begrudgingly forced to rely on the only two people they can trust: each other,” reads the official synopsis. “Ultimately allied with the brilliant MI6 agent Noel Bisset, they must go on the run and find a way to work together long enough to thwart a global conspiracy that threatens the entire free world.”
