Badlands Trailer Easter Eggs Hint at Future Alien Crossover
20th Century Studios has released a teaser trailer for Predator: Badlands, and fans seem to believe that it contains Easter eggs that hint at potential Alien crossover projects. Notably, two crossover movies between the Alien and Predator franchises, Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007), have been released to date.
While Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017) removed the crossover films from the Alien timeline, it was established as early as Predator 2 (1990) that extra-terrestrial entities with striking similarities to Xenomorphs exist in the Predator universe.
Predator: Badlands trailer Easter eggs could set up new Alien crossover
The teaser trailer for Predator: Badlands has Easter eggs that create a tangible connection between the upcoming Predator movie and the Alien franchise and hint at a potential crossover between the two film series.
The logo of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, a fictional conglomerate from the Alien movies, appears multiple times in the Predator: Badlands trailer. At the 0:26 timestamp, the logo appears on the eyes of Elle Fanning’s Thia, confirming that she is an android produced by the corporation. In Alien: Romulus (2024), the logo is present in the eyes of David Jonsson’s Andy, denoting his synthetic origin.
In the trailer, the Weyland-Yutani logo appears again at the 0:53 timestamp at the corner of the scene. Since the release of the trailer, fans have taken to social media to speculate on a potential crossover.
Well-known scooper @MyTimeToShineH shared a screenshot of Thia’s eyes and wrote in the caption, “New Alien vs. Predator here we come!” Meanwhile, social media personality @blurayangel also theorized that Badlands might be “setting up another Alien vs Predator.”
Back in August 2024, Alien: Romulus director Fede Álvarez stated that he wanted to co-direct a crossover project with Prey helmer Dan Trachtenberg, who’s also the director of Predator: Badlands). A few months later, 20th Century Studios’ Steve Asbell told The Hollywood Reporter that there would “probably” be an Alien and Predator crossover in the future.
Predator: Badlands premieres in US theaters on November 7, 2025.
