Kelly Clarkson couldn’t resist making fun of Ben Affleck after watching footage of his character, Christian Wolff, attempting an awkward line dance in the sequel. She asked Affleck’s co-star Jon Bernthal, who plays his long-lost brother Brax, how he felt about the scene. “Watching you play the brother watching him was almost as entertaining as watching him line dance,” the host joked, sending the audience into laughter.
Clarkson couldn’t stop poking fun. She further continued, “Your character, it’s like it won the Super Bowl.” To which Bernthal replied he actually didn’t think the scene would make it into the film. “This script is so good, except what is this line dancing mess? This is terrible, like, this will never.” But after seeing Affleck’s performance, he changed his tune, calling it “so beautiful.”
The real highlight came when Clarkson pressed Affleck about rumors that he needed multiple instructors to nail the routine. The Accountant 2 star quickly defended himself, saying, “I did not need multiple instructors.”
To prove her point, Clarkson stood up and demonstrated her own line dancing skills, prompting Affleck to jokingly ask the audience, “Does that look easy to you? That’s extremely advanced!”
The Accountant 2 releases on April 25, 2025. The sequel picks up with Affleck’s math genius-turned-vigilante accountant teaming up with Bernthal’s deadly brother to solve a high-stakes murder.
