It feels especially remarkable when a Star Wars project is measured in decades, and now Revenge of the Sith has two under its belt.

While this anniversary is the most exciting with Revenge of the Sith re-releasing in theaters, the other notable Star Wars anniversaries are worth our attention. The first Star Wars anniversaries to be celebrated in 2025 were from the publishing side. Marvel marked 10 years of new Star Wars comics by releasing the aptly-named Star Wars: A New Legacy #1, a collection of stories featuring characters from the ongoing titles that ended in 2024. While Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II received no anniversary material, its novelization by Sean Williams was re-released as part of the Essential Legends Collection.

At Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan, the Lucasfilm Animation panel celebrated the company’s 20th anniversary with exclusive content and announcements:

The day before this article was published, George Lucas presented a special 45th anniversary showing of The Empire Strikes Back at the TCM Classic Film Festival.
