One Interview With The Vampire Season 3 Theory About The Tattoo Has Been Debunked By Star

As Daniel Molloy enjoys a new lease on life following Interview With The Vampire season 2, Eric Bogosian debunks one popular theory about where his character will be heading into season 3. AMC’s series adapts Anne Rice’s beloved world of vampires from the pages of her novels to the television screen, with season 3 set to adapt the events of The Vampire Lestat. In Interview With The Vampire season 3, Bogosian portrays Daniel Molloy, the writer who found himself brought back into the supernatural world after his original 1973 interview with Jacob Anderson’s Louis ended poorly.
While the next chapter of Interview With The Vampire won’t air until 2026, Bogosian opened up to Nerdist about a brief tattoo glimpsed in the San Diego Comic Con 2024 trailer that read “Armand told the truth“. While Molloy’s involvement in the teaser led many fans to believe the tattoo may be his, Bogosian stated that the arm didn’t belong to him, attributing the detail to being snuck in by showrunner Rolin Jones. Check out Bogosian’s full explanation below:
No, it’s not Daniel’s. It’s a person holding a clapboard. When we were shooting it, we didn’t even know that [the tattoo] was there. I only found out about it later when somebody pointed it out on the internet. I didn’t even see it on the day, and I asked other people who were also there about it. I asked, “Did you see that, when it said Armand was right?” And no one saw it. I don’t know if it was Mark Johnson, our producer, or somebody else’s arm. But we have this master puppeteer over us. It’s Rolin Jones who’s putting all these things together.
What Bogosian’s Response Means For Interview With The Vampire Season 3
Little Love May Be Shared Between The Pair
For those familiar with the lore of Interview With The Vampire, it is understandable why many fans latched onto the theory that the tattoo belonged to Daniel. He and his “maker”, Armand (Assad Zaman), are the two members of the popular pairing dubbed by fans as “The Devil’s Minion”, as they went from a vampire toying with his prey to calculated business partners to tragic lovers torn apart by their unlife. However, the television series has already framed their relationship in a far different fashion.

Interview With The Vampire Season 2 Ending Explained
The season 2 ending of Interview with the Vampire is filled with shocking twists and poignant reunions in the aftermath of a devastating tragedy.
Events within the Interview with the Vampire TV series have already departed from the novels’ timeline, as while Armand’s fascination with Daniel grew in the 1973 meeting, the reporter has no memories of spending time together when they reunite in the present. Furthermore, Armand seemingly turns Daniel out of spite for his part in exposing the truth to Louis, with Daniel ultimately losing contact with and resenting his maker. As such, things seem dire for the pair in the present story, making it unlikely Armand would share the room with either Daniel or Lestat any time soon.
Our Thoughts On Daniel & Armand’s Future In AMC’s Anne Rice Universe
The Pair May Have Their Own Spin-Off In The Works
As one of the most popular couplings in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, many fans are eager to see Interview With The Vampire turn its lens to Daniel and Armand’s story, especially as the series has created a mystery that may involve certain memories of Daniel’s 1973 experience locked away. However, per Bergosian’s response, it appears that the pair will be on poor terms going into Lestat’s time in the spotlight. With a short spin-off taking its name from Armand’s Night Island investment in development, fans may not have to wait long to learn the tale of the Devil’s Minion.
