On April 28, Kloots made a red carpet debut with Gimelstob at the Unforgettable Evening event. The gala, held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, is hosted by the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. 

This appearance marks Kloots and Gimelstob’s first official outing as a couple. In a statement to PEOPLE, Kloots shared that the relationship is “very new” and described the experience so far as “absolutely lovely.” She added that they are still in the early “courting” phase of their relationship. Gimelstob agreed, saying, “I hope to never leave that stage.”

Gimelstob admitted to being taken with Kloots long before they became a couple. Though he jokingly considers their first meeting at a Formula 1 race in Las Vegas their first date, Kloots clarified they didn’t actually go on a date until about eighteen months later. Gimelstob said their eventual connection was helped along by mutual friends and emphasized the importance of timing. 

Kloots explained that since they got to know each other first as friends, her 5-year-old son Elvis had already met Gimelstob. Elvis is Kloots’ son with her late husband, Broadway actor Nick Cordero, who passed away in 2020.

Gimelstob was full of praise for Kloots, saying he could talk about her “all night.” He said, “She’s just an incredibly special person. Obviously, she’s physically beautiful, but the way she handles everything. She’s so classy and has so much grace and is an amazing mother.”
