Dead City’ Season 2 Teaser

After nearly two years, the wait is almost over with a brand-new season of The Walking Dead: Dead City arriving on AMC and AMC+ this Sunday, May 4. There will be a lot of loose ends that need tying up when audiences pick back up with Lauren Cohan’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan and, in a freshly dropped teaser, we’re getting a peek at some of those storylines. With supporting performances from Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights), Željko Ivanek (Black Hawk Down), Lisa Emery (Ozark), Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black), Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy), Logan Kim, and Mahina Napoleon, the sophomore installment promises to be bigger, bolder, and badder than the set of episodes that first paved the way for the offshoot.
Kicking off the teaser, Negan (Morgan) can be heard saying “Show’s about to start,” as the character confidently walks into a room. This season, he’ll be throwing it back to the past, with his slicked-back hair and leather jacket — fully embracing the Negan roots of yesteryear. While Negan is preparing to lead another group of loyal followers, Maggie is preparing herself for the deadly obstacles that will face her when she returns to New York on a rescue mission for her enemy-turned-bestie. The heat gets cranked all the way up with a clip of Bruegel (Coates) flipping on a flamethrower, while Maggie gets cozy and comfortable gripping onto Lucille — a pairing we’d never thought we’d see. And, of course, there are plenty of jump scares from members of the undead community.
‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Season 2 Will Be Filled With Plenty of Drama
As fans will remember, the end of the first season revealed Maggie’s true intentions for teaming up with Negan on the life-risking rescue mission to bring her son, Hershel (Kim), to safety. The plan was simple: trade Negan with the folks holding Hershel hostage. But, after all they went through in those first set of episodes, Maggie began to see the real heart of gold inside of her archnemesis, with Season 2 following her attempt at freeing him. Of course, not everyone is on team Negan as we’ll see Hershel come to terms with his mother’s decision to put her life on the line to save the man who brutally murdered his father.
Speaking of that insane killing, it was one of the most talked-about events of the flagship series, The Walking Dead, and involved Negan using his barbed wire bat, Lucille, to bash the everloving brains out of Glenn (Steven Yeun). So, imagine our surprise when the official trailer revealed Maggie to be holding the weapon in her hands. Talk about a full circle moment.
