Found’s second season has been nothing but twists and turns. And its newest episode is no different. Alongside a thrilling plot that saw Gabi (Shanola Hampton) held hostage by a man she helped wrongfully imprison, Found’s newest episode also revealed that the mysterious lawyer, Heather Tollin (Danielle Savre), is actually Sir’s (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) accomplice and sister, Lena. We predicted that Sir’s accomplice was his sister back in December, and we predicted “Heather” was actually Lena back in January. But while any accomplice of Sir poses a threat to Gabi on some level, what might it mean for Gabi that the person helping Sir is also his sister?

Lena Sees Gabi As The Monster, Not Sir

Found’s second season has taken to exploring the ways in which true crime coverage can shift who is seen as the victim or perpetrator. We see this in the way the internet, in-universe, turns on Gabi the moment Sir does something “good” when he saves a young kidnapped girl. We, the audience, might know he only did it to prove that Gabi “needs” him, but society is more than happy to demonize a victim when given the chance. Even if strangers observing Gabi’s trauma from a distance can make Sir out to be a hero, the people who actually know him in real life know him to be an irredeemable monster. Gabi knows this. Lacey knows this. Even Christian, the younger brother, was raised alone and protected from the abuse of their wicked mother, and he can acknowledge that his brother is wrong. But for some reason, Lena can’t.

In texts from earlier in the season, Lena refers to Gabi as a “traitor”. She knocked Gabi out when Gabi went to confront Sir at their old high school. Lena’s been trying to get her brother as far away from Gabi as possible. Lena, while posing as Heather, even questioned the legitimacy of the testimony Gabi had given about her kidnapping. All in all, Lena, unlike Christian, has been weirdly hostile to Gabi. And while Lena/Heather actress Danielle Savre stated in a TV Insider interview that Lena “believes that her brother is completely innocent” because “she’s been brainwashed her whole life“, I think it’s more than that.

What If Lena Feels Replaced By Gabi?

I think, on some level, Lena knows that Gabi isn’t a liar. But to Lena, it’s more comforting to believe Gabi is some grand, traitorous manipulator that’s after her brother than to acknowledge the truth. And the truth is that Sir left his birth family to build a new one with Gabi. From Lena’s point of view, Sir has essentially replaced her with Gabi.

Sir is very particular about the language he uses to describe his dynamic with Gabi. While he might intend to pose as husband and wife when he and Gabi are in the Netherlands, he’s very adamant about their connection being a familial one. He outright tells Christian that while they might be blood, Gabi is his “family”. At the farmhouse, Sir even tells Gabi that her allegiance shouldn’t be to her father, but to him. And while Gabi and Sir’s dynamic might blur many lines, it’s clear that a big part of its foundation is Sir as a paternal figure— which is nothing new to him.

Sir raised both his siblings. After the death of his mother, it was only him supporting the children. Despite, tragically, being a child himself at the time, Sir had to become a father to both of his younger siblings. It’s something he clearly holds a lot of anguish and resentment about, especially regarding Christian and the favored treatment he received. Sir despises having been forced into that role young. But I think, more than that, he resents not being appreciated for it.

One might think that after a childhood of being parentified, Sir would seek comfort in being cared for himself, but that’s not what he’s going for with Gabi. While he might have enjoyed the few moments during his captivity when Gabi was forced to care for him, his main goal seems to be taking care of Gabi himself and being appreciated for it. The Gabi/Sir dynamic is far too complex to describe as being any one, singular thing. But a large part of it from Sir’s end seems to be an attempt at recreating the circumstances of his childhood under a context in which his hard work is appreciated. He wants, essentially, a do-over.

From Lena’s perspective, it probably feels like Sir replaced her with Gabi. Regarding the timeline, Lena would have just become an adult when Sir took Gabi. Imagine being a young woman and watching a man who is essentially your father rant and rave about how brilliant and perfect the girl he’s trying to make his new daughter is. Just as Sir resents Lacey for “stealing” Gabi from him, Lena seems to resent Gabi for “stealing” her brother and father from her.

Lena projects these feelings onto her fleeting romance with Trent when he breaks things off after she chooses to represent Sir. Even Lena’s other brother, Christian, essentially “chose” Gabi over her when he decided to help Gabi track down Sir. Time and time again, the men in Lena’s life keep choosing Gabi over her. While it’s clear that under no circumstances would Sir ever want Gabi dead or harmed, this pattern of being overlooked means Lena might be different. We’ve already speculated that Lena was the one that killed their abusive mother, not Sir. She already sees Gabi as an enemy and traitor. And if our speculation is accurate, she’s already killed someone to protect her brother. Gabi might not just be at risk of another kidnapping this season, but of a murder attempt. Whether it be to protect her brother from Gabi’s testimony, or as revenge against the woman she sees as her replacement, I think Lena might try to kill Gabi.
