So is Sheryll Barnes leaving the FTF in FBI: Most Wanted? Here is what we know on the matter.
Is Roxy Stenberg’s Sheryll Barnes leaving FBI: Most Wanted?
Sheryll Barnes has not yet properly decided whether she is leaving the Fugitive Task Force in FBI: Most Wanted.
In “Gut Job,” Barnes is given considerable screen time and importance. She is shown struggling to come to terms with her declining marriage and her family moving away. Her troubles plague her mind to such an extent that she cuts off a date to connect with her daughter.
It’s later revealed that Barnes had received an alert for a job posting. This posting would keep her with the FBI but relocate her from New York to Washington, D.C., where she would be working a desk job. The deadline for applications was also listed as April 11, 2025, which is approaching incredibly soon, if the show is set in real time. This job is the position of Task Force Supervisor, which, if Barnes accepts, would have her working out of the FBI’s headquarters in the Hoover Building in Washington, D.C.
Moreover, this job would involve working within Washington, D.C.’s Criminal Investigative Division branch. Here, she would supervise all Violent Crime Task Forces and coordinate investigative strategies across corresponding field offices.
Barnes visited the SAC to discuss potentially leaving the Fugitive Task Force. However, she did not commit to applying for the Task Force Supervisor post. She confided in Alana De La Garza’s Isobel, telling her to keep their conversation about the new job post a secret. Isobel gave her full support and assured Barnes that the latter would get a recommendation for the post.
Although Barnes has not accepted the Washington, D.C. Task Force Supervisor job offer, there are significant and tempting perks. For one, Barnes would be able to get closer to her family. Also, she would get a chance for promotion and a pay raise.
