Today’s Connections Hints & Answers For April 10, 2025 (Puzzle #669)

If you are trying to ace today’s Connections puzzle, you can do it by getting a few hints from us. I found today’s puzzle a bit difficult, mainly because I got stuck on one specific category for a little while. I was unsure what was going on, but I eventually managed to work my way through it. Thanks to that work, I am able to help you out with the clues I have cobbled together.
If you want something else to work on today, the daily Letter Boxed puzzle is one of my favorites to just spend some time playing with it. There are a lot of potential outcomes in these puzzles, and I like Letter Boxed because it allows me to look around and do whatever experimenting I want to without the risk of losing. Obviously, you still have to solve it within 24 hours, but otherwise, you have no limitations and can do whatever you want to do.
Today’s Connections Category Hints
APRIL 10 #669
You can get the hints you need for this puzzle right here. I will say that one of the categories is a little tricky, and there are a group of words that you would think go together, but in truth, they do not. You can use my hints to help you get through the end of the puzzle without too much trouble. I also found one of the categories odd for a reason that you will likely understand when you see it.
- One category is about a color and four things that tend to share it
- One category is about four words that describe having more than enough of something
- One category is about something that is against the reason for the season – in the wrong season
- One category is about four words that are borrowed from a different language

SHADES OF YELLOW |

---|---|---|---|
CANARY |
GOLD |
LEMON |
MUSTARD |
CANARY and GOLD are both a little bit of a red herring here, mainly due to the presence of MINE and COAL. All four of these words are something that I would typically group together, but luckily, I was able to get away from this because I solved the green category first, which changed the trajectory of my puzzle today. I didn’t really want CANARY to end up as a color shade, as I preferred the MINI connection, but it still works out well enough.

MINE |
RESERVE |
STORE |
WELL |
As I said, I solved this one first, which I think was quite lucky and kept me away from the hardest part of the puzzle. Understanding the STORE can mean the same thing as MINE is not as straightforward as it could be, but I just managed to recognize it. Admittedly, it was because I didn’t see any other word that could mean the same thing, and I wasn’t sure that it was going to be correct, but I was able to do this without too much trouble.

BAH |
COAL |
GRINCH |
NAUGHTY |
I was a little confused about this one, and it was very out of season, but I was able to recognize what was going on. I saw GRINCH from the beginning, and I thought it might go with NAUGHTY, but I didn’t realize that it would be this Christmas-themed until much later. In the end, I thought it might be words that have to do with bad behavior, but it is funny that two of these words are actually associated with two people who understood the spirit of Christmas more than anything at the end of their stories.

SPANISH WORDS |

---|---|---|---|
ELLA |
GUSTO |
MAYO |
SOY |
I like that it is all Spanish words, but the fact that ELLA looked like a name did throw me off. I have taken enough Spanish and far more than enough other Romance languages to know what the pronoun is, but it’s not something I would have thought of right away. I do now recognize most of the words in the category. However, I am not sure what MAYO means in Spanish right this second, but it makes sense, and I do recognize the structure of the word.
