The Waygate. By the time The Wheel of Time, Season 3, Episode 6, “The Shadow in the Night,” had aired, it became clear that the forces of the Dark One used these mediums to travel. While the Dragon Reborn, Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), has spent a large part of Season 3 with the Aiel. His friend, Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford), has spent the season back home in the Two Rivers. His time has been spent bringing stability to his hometown, which is under threat from both Trollocs and Whitecloaks. The show’s next episode will see Perrin seek to do so, by standing up to a horde of Trollocs.

The Wheel of Time airs new episodes Thursdays on Prime Video. Come this Thursday, Perrin will lead the Two Rivers to war as their very existence is being threatened. Now, a new trailer for Season 3, episode 7, shows Perrin and his companions preparing his people for the Trolloc army encroaching on his hometown. The clip shows Faile (Isabella Bucceri) encouraging Perrin to trust in his leadership even as the Tuatha’an make a welcome return. After the defenses go up and nightfall comes, the Trolloc horde descend on the Two Rivers. Axes swing, while arrows and spears fly, and in the melee, Perrin will likely meet Padan Fain (Johann Myers) in combat. In the chaos that engulfs the town, the Whitecloaks will be there, but it remains to be seen for whom they fight.

While having the Tuatha’an return will be special, it remains to be seen exactly what brings the Traveling People back since they last appeared in Season 1. Also, another exciting aspect of the episode will be Fain and Perrin’s reunion, and given their past history, it seems all set to be an explosive one. Given that the threat of Trollocs and Whitecloaks has already brought about the death of Mat’s mother, Natti (Juliet Howard), we will likely watch with bated breath to see who survives the night in this clash.

Wolfbrother. This is a major part of Perrin Aybara’s identity. However, the former blacksmith has constantly tried to run away from it. Speaking in an interview with Collider, Rutherford reveals that while Perrin might have blocked off his wolf side in Season 1 and 2. Going forward, the ta’veren will embrace it more. He explains:

For most of Season 1 and Season 2 he’s trying to avoid it, but it’s within him, and it’s an essential part of the prophecy. He starts to realize that some of these abilities have actually helped him and helped people, and can help him understand the way he can track and understand things. It is something that can be used to his benefit and not be seen as a curse as much as he’s kind of viewed it throughout the story so far.”
