Black Mirror season 7’s “USS Callister: Into Infinity” not only marks the return of many familiar characters from season 4’s episode 1 but also features some new faces. Created by Charlie Brooker, Netflix’s Black Mirror is known for following an anthology format, where each episode unfolds a standalone narrative. The only shared theme between all episodes in the series is that they highlight the dark implications of humanity’s growing dependence on technology.
Like most anthology shows, Black Mirror has always been a mixed bag, with some episodes outshining others. According to many viewers, Black Mirror season 4’s episode 1, “USS Callister,” has always been among the show’s better installments, explaining why Netflix decided to expand its lore with a sequel, “USS Callister: Into Infinity.” Beginning where its predecessor ended, the Black Mirror episode features many characters from its parent episode and introduces a few new ones.

Date Of Birth: 16 August 1985
Actor: Born and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Cristin Milioti grew interested in acting in middle school while studying at Long Lake Camp for the Arts in Long Lake, New York. After being a part of several school plays during her early years, she graduated in 2003 and started taking acting lessons at New York University. However, she soon dropped out and went on to gain some real-world experience in her field.

Actor: Born in Hackettstown, New Jersey, Jimmi Simpson attended Hackettstown High School before he pursued a BA in theater at Bloomsburg University. After he graduated from university, he went on to act for four seasons at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The actor made his feature film debut at 25 when he starred in Amy Herckerling’s Loser in 2000. During his early acting years, he first garnered acclaim when he played Mike Mageau in David Fincher’s Zodiac.
Since then, Jimmi Simpson has played diverse roles in many well-known TV shows, like Breakout Kings, Psych, House of Cards, Westworld, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In recent times, Simpson has garnered attention for his portrayal of many alternate versions of the same character in Apple TV+’s acclaimed sci-fi show Dark Matter.

Character: Like most main cast members in “USS Callister: Into Infinity,” Jimmi Simpson also plays two alternate versions of the same character. While one of them is human, the other is a digital clone. In Black Mirror season 4’s episode 1, the human version of Jimmi Simpson’s character, Walton, did not have that big of a role. Black Mirror season 7’s episode 6, however, delves deeper into his backstory and reveals how he may be an even bigger villain than Jesse Plemons’ Robert Daly.

Actor: Born and raised in Texas, Jesse Plemons started his acting journey at the age of three by appearing in a Coca-Cola commercial. Throughout his early years, he kept taking up small roles and extra acting work to be able to support his family. His breakthrough came in 2006 when he appeared as Landry Clarke in NBC’s Friday Night Lights. Interestingly, even though Plemons played football in school, he was one of the few main characters in the sports drama series who was not a part of the central football team.

Plemons went on to garner more attention for his performance in Breaking Bad and the show even got him the title “Meth Damon” because of how he resembled Matt Damon. Character: Since Jesse Plemons’ character dies towards the end of Black Mirror’s “USS Callister” episode, he was not expected to reprise his role in Black Mirror season 7’s episode 6. However, he surprisingly returns in the episode’s second half and portrays a new digitally cloned version of his character. Although the new version of his character, Robert Daly, is not the main villain in season 7’s episode 6, he still turns out to be morally ambiguous.

Billy Magnussen as Karl: Billy Magnussen, of the Road House, Game Night, and The Franchise fame, reprises his role as the USS Callister crew member Karl in the Black Mirror episode.
Osy Ikhile as Nate Packer: Nate Packer, whose human version serves as the “eternal” internal at Infinity’s office, is portrayed by Osy Ihkile. The actor is best known for his roles in movies and shows like The Legend of Tarzan, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and All American.
Paul G. Raymond as Kabir Dudani: Kabir Dudani is another USS Callister crew member in the Black Mirror episode whose human counterpart works as a tech guy in the Infinity office. Paul G.
