Warner Bros. executive confirms that while The Penguin season 2 isn’t in the works, a direct continuation of the DC series is certainly a possibility.
In an interview with Deadline, Warner Bros.Television Group CEO Channing Dungey delivers an update on a possible continuation to The Penguin, stating that The Penguin was never meant to extend past a single season. However, Dungey confirms that “everyone is interested” in coming back “and doing more” in spite of the fact that “there’s nothing in the works at the moment.” Dungey also says that revisiting The Penguin is “definitely a possibility” if Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, and the rest of the team are available, though nothing is currently confirmed. Read Channing Dungey’s full comments:
“The Penguin is one of those things where — and it’s interesting, because when you talk with everyone involved, everyone is interested in possibly revisiting those characters and doing more — it was very much designed as a limited series. But I would never say never. I think if we can get the creative stars to line up in the right way, and the talent is available — because we certainly wouldn’t want to do this without Colin [Farrell] and Cristin [Milioti] and that team — I would say it’s definitely a possibility, but there’s nothing in the works at the moment.”
