What Happened To Jax Taylor & Brittany Cartwright After Vanderpump Rules Season 8?

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright met in Las Vegas in 2015, but what has the pair been up to since Vanderpump Rules season 8? When the two first met, Jax was starring in the third season of the Bravo series, while Brittany was living on her family farm in Kentucky while working at Hooters. It was love at first sight, and Jax immediately asked Brittany to move to Los Angeles with him, away from her family in Kentucky.

Brittany first appeared on Vanderpump Rules during the start of season 4, when Jax introduced her as his new girlfriend. After making several guest appearances on the show, Brittany became a full cast member in Vanderpump Rules season 6. In April 2017, the couple went on to star in the Vanderpump Rules spin-off Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky. Now, the pair has returned for their new Bravo series, The Valley.

Jax & Brittany Had A Child

In September 2020, Brittany announced on Instagram that she and Jax were expecting their first child together, with a caption that read, “Mom & Dad. The love of our lives is coming soon.” Later that month, the couple threw a sex reveal party and learned that they were having a baby boy. On April 12, 2021, Jax and Brittany welcomed Cruz Michael Cauchi to the world. Jax posted an Instagram photo of the couple holding their newborn at the hospital.

“I don’t believe in divorce. My parents didn’t get divorced. I don’t believe in that. Marriage is work.”

Jax & Brittany Started Their Own Podcast

In March 2023, the first-time parents launched their new podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany. On the podcast, Jax and Brittany talk about marriage, parenthood, friendship, and reality TV. In the inaugural episode, Jax talked candidly about there being good days and bad days in their marriage but that he’s determined to make it work. “I don’t believe in divorce. My parents didn’t get divorced,” Jax said. “I don’t believe in that. Marriage is work.”

Jax & Brittany Star In The New Bravo Series The Valley

On March 19, Bravo premiered the newest Vanderpump Rules spin-off, The Valley season 1, starring Jax and Brittany. The couple appear alongside fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Kristen Doute in The Valley season 1 cast, as well as several new faces. Just a few days before the new show’s premiere, Brittany revealed during the podcast that she and Jax had separated.

What Are Jax & Brittany Up To Now?

After Jax and Brittany separated last year, Brittany officially filed for divorce in August 2024. According to a People article that was published around the same time she filed, the reality star filed for divorce just days after Jax completed a 30-day treatment in a mental health facility. In the divorce filing, Brittany requested legal and physical custody of their young son, Cruz Cauchi, but wanted the court to give Jax visitation rights. Despite filing over eight months ago, the former couple has yet to finalize their divorce.

While not confirmed in the People article, Brittany did say in the recent The Valley season 2 trailer that she also filed a restraining order against him. Speaking of The Valley season 2, the new season will follow Jax and Brittany in the middle of their break-up and how they decided to file for divorce. It seems Jax took the news fine, as he had a girl at their home without Brittany’s knowledge. Since the couple is no longer together, they even ended their shared podcast they started during COVID.

Brittany has taken over their podcast, changing it to When Reality Hits with Brittany Cartwright, while Jax started his own called In The Mind Of A Man. The two have both moved on, but it’s unclear how well they’re co-parenting together. I guess viewers will find out when The Valley season 2 airs on April 15.
