The Nintendo Switch 2 Version Of BOTW Fixes Major Weapon Frustration, But There’s A Catch

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will introduce several upgrades to the game, but one of the best may be locked behind the Zelda Notes app. Despite the excitement for Nintendo’s next console, many players have questioned the company’s strategy of “upgrading” older games to take advantage of the Switch 2’s extra power. Some of the improvements made to Breath of the Wild may result in a smoother experience, but the fact that they’re locked behind a mobile app seems like an unnecessary hurdle.
Per VGC, YouTuber Zeltik noted in a recent hands-on with the game that the Zelda Notes app hands out random daily bonuses, one of which is “equipment repairs.” It appears that additional items are randomly distributed every day, so there’s only a chance players could land on the item that presumably allows them to fix a weapon that’s on the verge of shattering. Given how frustrating this mechanic can be, fans have questioned why the item is both restricted to the Zelda Notes app and reduced to a random drop that requires users to simply be lucky.
