After bringing back the iconic Verdansk map in Call of Duty: Warzone, developers now confirm that the map won’t be leaving the game anytime soon.

Speaking to IGN, Warzone’s game director at Raven Software Pete Actipis stated that the Verdansk map won’t be removed from the game anytime soon, and that this is “just the beginning of the Verdansk 2025 journey.” Actipis revealed that the map is a favorite among the development team, and that they didn’t want to bring it back only to remove it again:

“We brought Verdansk back for a reason. It wasn’t just to bring it back for a season and kind of say goodbye to it again.” — Pete Actipis

Actipis made it clear that this doesn’t mean Verdansk will be around forever, pointing out that he couldn’t confirm the long-term strategy for the map. However, based on player reaction and the devs’ own feelings—”we love Verdansk,” says Actipis—it seems that the nostalgic map will be staying in Call of Duty: Warzonefor at least the time being.
