Fans Think Taylor Swift Will Star in The Bodyguard Remake

Fans are buzzing with speculation that Taylor Swift could be working on the The Bodyguard remake. They are eager to see if the pop star will take on the iconic role originally played by Whitney Houston.
Here is why fans think that Swift might star in The Bodyguard remake.
Is Taylor Swift working on The Bodyguard remake?
There’s much buzz going around that Taylor Swift might be part of the upcoming Bodyguard remake. However, as of now, there has been no official announcement or confirmation about the same. The original film, which hit theaters in 1992, starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.
A new version is in the works, and Sam Wrench is directing it. Wrench previously worked with Swift on her record-breaking concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, in 2023, leading many to believe she could take the lead role in this upcoming version.
Tyra Banks also weighed in on the remake while guest-hosting Today with Jenna & Friends. She said, “I think Taylor Swift, ’cause business and commerce, art — she would freakin’ sell like crazy.” Banks further suggested a twist with the casting.
She said, “I’m just gonna be real, I’m a Black girl, it was Whitney Houston as a Black girl, Kevin Costner as a White man. What if we flipped it and it was Taylor Swift and Idris Elba? Hot!” Banks also revealed she’s in talks with Elba for a separate film project and hinted at their ongoing chats over WhatsApp.
Swift and Elba also share a history. They previously appeared together in the 2019 musical Cats. Additionally, Elba’s voice was sampled in her song “London Boy.” Whether Swift will officially join the remake remains unconfirmed. However, fans remain curious and excited about the possibility.
