Should you pull for Xilonen or Venti in Genshin Impact 5.5? – Destructoid

The second half of Genshin Impact 5.5 will feature Xilonen’s and Venti’s rerun banners. Both are amazing support units, but because of limited resources, most can only pull for one of them.
This article will briefly cover both pros and cons of Xilonen and Venti to help you decide who to pull for.
Whom should you pull for between Xilonen and Venti?
Xilonen pros and cons

Xilonen is a 5-star Geo unit that scales with her DEF and is already one of the best supports even at C0. Here are some of her pros and cons in Genshin Impact:
- Pros
- Can easily shred enemies’ resistance based on the elemental types of the party members.
- Resistance shreds scales with her Elemental Skill level.
- Can use the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set to provide Elemental DMG bonuses.
- Provide healing to the active unit.
- Easy to build as she scales with DEF and has multiple F2P weapon options.
- Deal a decent amount of DMG through her Elemental Burst.
- Great for exploration as she can climb vertical surfaces.
- Cons
- Requires at least two characters of elemental types other than Geo to trigger the healing effect on her Elemental Burst.
- No crowd control application.
Xilonen has far more pros than cons. She is one of the best support characters in the game and can fit into virtually any team. Xilonen is also extremely easy to use and does not require a lot of investment.
Venti pros and cons

Venti is a 5-star Anemo character and the Anemo Archon in Genshin Impact. Listed below are some of his pros and cons:
- Pros
- Amazing battery.
- Strongest crowd control ability in the game.
- Great against multiple smaller enemies.
- Good for exploration, thanks to his Elemental Skill that creates a wind current.
- Good sub-DPS and requires very little on-field time.
- Can use the Viridescent Venerer set to shred enemies’ resistance.
- Cons
- Crowd control doesn’t work against immovable enemies.
- Difficult to target Elemental Burst location.
- Elemental Burst lifts enemies, so some attacks might miss the target.
- Bad against enemies in Floor 12 of Spiral Abyss.
Similar to Xilonen, Venti is also very easy to build and does not require a lot of investment. Additionally, as mentioned, he does not require a lot of time on-field, so you can just use his Elemental Skill and Burst before switching to the next character.
Who should you pull?
The simple answer is Xilonen, as she brings far more value to the account compared to Venti.
While the Anemo Archon is still pretty good against smaller enemies and has the best crowd control abilities, he doesn’t provide anything significant that would make you want to keep him in the team. Furthermore, there are other better alternatives like Kazuha or more accessible options like Sucrose (especially C6).
Meanwhile, Xilonen does almost everything except apply crowd control. Her abilities scale with DEF, which is one of the easiest substats to get when farming artifacts. In addition, one of Xilonen’s best weapons is a Natlan craftable, making her easy to build. Xilonen is just as good as Kazuha, if not better, so you can use them together to support the main damage dealer or have them in two different teams in the Spiral Abyss.
