Oscar nominee Florence Pugh has shared what she wants to see from her character Princess Irulan when she makes her return in director Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated Dune 3. Pugh’s Irulan was last seen by fans at the end of last year’s Dune: Part Two, where she agreed to Paul Atreides’ sudden marriage proposal after he defeated Feyd-Rautha in a duel.

What does Florence Pugh want in Dune 3?

During a recent interview, Pugh revealed that she hopes that Princess Irulan would have a much bigger role in Dune: Messiah compared to the previous installment. Production on the third installment is expected to start sometime this summer.

“I hope we see more of her. I want more cool outfits!,” Pugh said.

In the original 1969 novel, despite being Paul’s legal wife, Irulan didn’t bear any of his children since Paul remained loyal to his beloved Chani, who became the only mother of his children. Despite their strained marriage, Paul valued her opinions as his advisor. The character was originally played by Virginia Madsen in David Lynch’s 1984 movie. The NeverEnding Story III’s Julia Cox also portrayed Irulan in the two miniseries.

Dune: Messiah will once again be directed by Villeneuve. Besides Pugh, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Jason Momoa are set to reprise their respective roles as Paul Atreides, Chani, and Duncan Idaho. It was also recently been revealed that The Batman star Robert Pattinson is reportedly being considered for the villainous role of Scytale. In addition, it has also been rumored that Warner Bros. is currently looking for young actors to portray Paul and Chani’s children Leto and Ghanima, who will both be “in their teens.”
