Lindsay Lohan Lands Lead Role in New Hulu Drama ‘Count My Lies’

Lindsay Lohan is set to star in and executive produce the upcoming Hulu drama series, Count My Lies. Based on Sophie Stava’s novel of the same name, the upcoming show marks Lohan’s first lead role on television. The story follows Sloane Caraway, a compulsive liar who manages to land a job as a nanny for the wealthy couple, Violet and Jay Lockhart. Lohan is expected to play the role of Violet, while other cast details remain under wraps.
The series is being developed by This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger and will dive deep into the psychology of deception. As Sloane continues to work for the Lockharts, she will begin to unravel the secrets that are hidden within their household. The upcoming show is Aptaker and Berger’s third collaboration with Hulu after Love, Victor and the short-lived sitcom, How I Met Your Father.
The news comes ahead of the release of Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming Freaky Friday sequel, titled Freakier Friday, where Lohan reprises her role as Anna Coleman. The film also features Jamie Lee Curtis as Anna’s mom, Tess, and Julia Butters as Anna’s daughter, Harper. Lohan also recently starred in the 2024 Netflix holiday movie, Our Little Secret, alongside Ian Harding (Pretty Little Liars).
Lindsay Lohan Is Done With Romantic Comedies
On the red carpet at CinemaCon, which was held on April 3, 2025, the Mean Girls star revealed that she wants to pivot from romantic comedies. The actress spoke to AP Entertainment about her future in Hollywood and confessed that while she loves making rom-coms, she wants to explore other types of characters. Lohan was honored with the Vanguard Award during the Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony alongside Channing Tatum, Ana de Armas, and more.
As reported by PEOPLE, she recalled the “surreal” experience of watching herself on screen in her debut movie, The Parent Trap (1998), during her acceptance speech. According to the former Disney star, the experience was surreal, but she felt right at home. Lohan talked about growing up in the industry and confessed that there’s “nothing like the magic of cinema.” Lohan used the opportunity to thank Disney for always believing in her and appreciated her husband, Bader Shammas, for his support and encouragement. To conclude her speech, the actress thanked her fans for giving her a “lifetime of love.”
Lohan also reunited with Curtis during CinemaCon, and the two teased the upcoming Freakier Friday sequel. As reported by PEOPLE, Lohan expressed that it was wonderful to be back in Anna’s shoes.
