A full reveal for Star Wars Zero Company took place at Star Wars Celebration, detailing the upcoming title’s gameplay design and cast. Star Wars Zero Company will take players back to the iconic Clone Wars era of the long-running and immensely popular sci-fi franchise. The game comes from Bit Reactor, a studio comprised of former XCOM developers, in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, and it will be published by Electronic Arts.

Zero Company will see players take on the role of Hawks, a former Republic officer, to command a squad of unconventional allies in turn-based tactical combat and stop a formidable force that threatens to harm the entire galaxy. “Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay design pillars that weave in the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics gameplay,” said Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor. The game will also feature extensive customization, meaningful choices, and brand-new Star Wars characters.

Everything We Know About Star Wars Zero Company

Turn-Based Combat, Customization, And A Lot Of Player Choices

Zero Company centers on turn-based tactical combat, akin to the XCOM franchise. Players will embark on a campaign of tactical operations and investigations across the galaxy. Between those missions, players can establish a base of operations and deployment to gain information using informants. This feature appears to be similar to the Abbey in the underrated Marvel’s Midnight Suns, another XCOM-esque title.

The squads of playable characters are quite diverse, featuring Clone Troopers, astromech droids, and yes, even Jedi. All members of your squad can be customized, especially Hawks himself, who has a customizable appearance and combat class. There will be a wide range of abilities, appearance customization options, and gameplay archetypes to choose from. Members of the squad will also form bonds while on the field, allowing new opportunities to unlock “powerful combat synergies.”

Though the game isn’t coming until 2026, it is the perfect time for a turn-based Star Wars game to be released. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is releasing next week and will also feature unique real-time elements combined with traditional turn-based gameplay and an immersive world.
