I have a fear that Married at First Sight season 18’s most victimized cast member, Allen Slovick‘s new girlfriend is only in the relationship for clout, leading me to feel he’s being “double-duped.” Allen married Madison Myers as strangers in MAFS season 18, and while they initially shared chemistry, Madison and her close circle made it clear that Allen wasn’t her type. From there, Madison seemed to be stringing Allen along, as she never showed him affection after their wedding day but refused to say that she didn’t see the marriage working out, all while exhibiting red flags.

However, something more troublesome was going on behind the scenes, as Madison was having a secret affair with Michelle Tomblin’s husband, David Trimble. Their affair only came to light during the couples retreat at the end of the season, when Michelle surmised the pair had something illicit going on. Madison and David opted to pursue each other after they were caught, leaving Allen blindsided and heartbroken. Come the reunion though, Allen relayed that he had a new girlfriend, although they broke up and Allen is now with a different woman named Candy Adams, who I think presents trouble for Allen.

Throughout his marriage journey in Married at First Sight season 18, Allen remarked that Madison was out of his league, and I saw that Madison also made that notion clear to Allen, who is a quirky guy. To appease his new wife, Allen started working out and dressing much differently in order to hopefully get Madison to like him more, but none of his efforts worked. Both Candy and Madison share a blonde aesthetic, and are very attractive women in their own right. They do share a similar look and style objectively, and I see it as being a red flag, since dating someone like Madison ended terribly for Allen.

Allen has a lot to offer a partner, although he may be punching above his weight once again with Candy, but it remains to be seen.

Allen and his new girlfriend Candy hard launched as a couple in mid-March 2025, after the reunion episodes aired. Candy is putting on the appearance that she is all in on Allen, and he is doing the same on his Instagram page. Where I see potential issues is with Candy’s Instagram showboating not only of their relationship in an over-the-top way but also with how she presents herself. She is giving me influencer wannabe vibes, as her posts seem very calculated as her followers increase.

My sentiment is shared by other MAFS fans, who commented on their fears about Candy and her intentions in the comments of the Reddit post above.

“She’s in it for clout and 100% guaranteed drops Allen once television luster wears off and he is just an ordinary middle-aged guy.”

I am being led to believe, based on Candy’s Instagram persona and Allen’s seemingly repeat choices, that he could, in fact, be “double-duping” himself. Candy does boast that she’s all in on Allen, stating in the comments of her post, “I’m fully aware and he’s fully aware he’s my future husband, thank you.” However, I fear that Allen won’t be able to recognize any red flags in Candy just as he didn’t observe them with Madison.

Allen is a very likable guy, and his Married at First Sight cast mates sang his praises repeatedly. Allen could be getting taken advantage of by his new girlfriend, who may be grasping at Allen’s reality TV fame. I could be off-base with my assertion, but Allen’s history with Madison on the show gives me concern, because Allen has demonstrated that he can clearly get played. In any case, I am rooting for Allen to have a successful relationship that leads to a marriage he so wants, but I’m not holding my breath with his new relationship.
