U.S. Fans Deserve to Watch Survivor: Australia vs. The World

Australian network, Channel 10 who will be broadcasting the show along with Paramountanz, has yet to confirm an official air date for Survivor: Australia v The World, but South African outlet The Citizen reports it will premiere on June 22. With all of its fanfare, American viewers have seen no indication that any U.S.-based platform will host this show, leaving them with one desperate question to any Survivor executive who’ll listen: please, let fans based in the US watch Survivor: Australia vs. The World!

Without ‘Survivor,’ would Reality TV even exist today?

While American Survivor is filled with many seasons where legendary competitors return to compete once again, nothing compares to the televised powerhouse that will be Survivor: Australia vs. The World. U.S. fans are exhilarated enough just seeing who’ll be representing our country; Parvati Shallow, Cirie Fields, and Tony Vlachos are representing the US, with each person’s mythic tenure on the flagship program leaving fans excited for how they’ll fare in this international thunderdome. Yet even beyond just them, diehard Survivor fans know that there are people with just as impressive resumes from all over the world coming together to compete. From challenge beasts to strategic geniuses, this will truly be the best that the franchise has to offer…which is why it’s so, so unfortunate that there’s currently no way to watch it when it airs.

For fans who’ve never attempted to watch international seasons of Survivor, they may not know the many hurdles American viewers have to jump through to try and view international installments. Survivor: Australia is a perfect example of this; it is currently only available to stream on 10Play, an Australian platform, meaning that the only way international viewers can watch is through a VPN or similarly complex tech. This fact, combined with the lack of announcements about Australia vs. The World being accessible to, well, the world, has countless fans anxious that they may be left out of what will be the Survivor event of the decade!

We Deserve To Watch ‘Survivor: Australia vs. the World’!

Many are calling on Paramount Plus, CBS, and even host Jeff Probst himself to do something about this, lamenting how unfair it is that borders are keeping us from one of the few things that truly unites every country in the world: a love for Survivor. It has audiences upset and, with the lack of any response from the people who helped create not only this season but this entire franchise, it has many of them feeling abandoned by the very series they’re so desperately hoping to support.

Now, of course, there are many logistical and even governmental rules that leave foreign shows like Australia: Survivor vs. The World is unavailable to people in the States. Things like content licensing have long been an issue for not only Survivor fans but lovers of foreign media worldwide, with this show only being the latest one that American viewers are unable to watch. The general Survivor audience understands that, but even so, they’re asking for just one thing from the program that they have devoted so much time and emotion to: try. Try to make it so we can all watch this historic season, try and understand why this is so important to us and why being able to view Australia vs. The World in real time will be the highlight of so many people’s viewing experiences forever. We need you to try so that this season isn’t hidden from us forever, and we hope you remember that we’re asking this with love…well, mostly. Just do it, okay!?!?
