‘Andor’ Season 2 Soundtrack Gets Out of This World Release Plan -

The first three episodes of Andor will be available to stream tonight on Disney+, and soundtrack information for the series has finally been revealed. In addition to premiering the soundtrack for the first three episodes of Andor Season 2, Lucasfilm has also announced that the remaining parts of the soundtrack will be released in line with each pod of episodes. This means the soundtrack for Episodes 4-6 will debut next Tuesday, on April 29, with Episodes 7-9 coming on May 6, ahead of the soundtrack for the final three episodes of Season 2 premiering on May 13. Nicholas Britell (Succession) composed the score for Andor Season 1, but Brandon Roberts (Free Solo, Land of Bad) has been tapped to produce the music for Season 2, which has been confirmed as the final season of the series.

Collider’s Steve Weintraub recently had the chance to chat with Andor Season 2 stars Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk at Star Wars Celebration, and Luna spoke about what he thinks sets Andor apart from other shows. Acting as a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the 2016 film following the Rebellion’s plan to steal the Death Star plans, Andor was always designed as a two-season story leading up to the events of the film. Luna says this is what helped the team craft such a well-executed story: the fact that they had a clear and defined finishing point and weren’t just making seasons of TV with the hopes that another season would be greenlit. Showrunner Tony Gilroy also hinted at plans to screen the Andor Season 2 finale in theaters, along with Rogue One.

What Else Did We Learn at Star Wars Celebration?

One of the biggest bits of information to come out of Star Wars Celebration was the official announcement of Star Wars: Starfighter, the upcoming film from Shawn Levy, director of Deadpool & Wolverine. The film features all-new characters, takes place a few years after The Rise of Skywalker, and will be released on May 28, 2027. Star Wars also officially announced a new Darth Maul animated series coming to Disney+ next year, and even debuted the first official footage of the show, which will see Sam Witwer reprise his role as the Sith lord. The Mandalorian & Grogu, the next film on the Star Wars slate, also got an exciting update, including first-look images and plot details.
