The finale will feature three contestants, which is a change from season 12, in which two competed–winner Boyz II Men’s Buffalos and runner-up Mario’s Wasp. However, there have been other seasons in which more than two finalists battled it out for the Golden Mask Trophy.

According to The Futon Critic, The Masked Singer season 13 has just two episodes left before its finale. On April 23, the show will air the quarter-finals on Soundtrack of My Life Night, during which the Top 5 contestants–Boogie Woogie, Coral, Mad Scientist Monster, Nessy, and Pearl–will compete for their spots in the semi-finals. Three will advance, while one will unmask.

After the quarter-finals, the semi-finals will air on April 30 in an episode called “The Semi-Finals: Head-To-Head Battles.” In that show, the Top 4 finalists will go head-to-head in battles in order to determine who’ll advance to the finale. The winner of each battle will earn a spot in the finale, while the bottom two will compete in a Smackdown, after which one contestant will be unmasked. This means that The Masked Singer season 13 finale will air on May 7, with three contestants competing for the Golden Mask Trophy.
