Supergirl DCU Movie Might Get New Title, Logo Revealed

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow may become the second DC Universe movie to shorten its official title.
David Krumholtz, who stars in the upcoming superhero blockbuster as Supergirl‘s father Zor-El, recently announced on Instagram that he had wrapped production on the DCU movie. “Wrapped! Incredible experience working on [Supergirl] with [Milly Alcock and Emily Beecham] Thanks, Craig Gillespie, Peter Safran & [James Gunn] and an absolutely incredible London based cast & crew!” Krumholtz captioned the Instagram post.

The post also featured a picture of the front and back of his director’s chair, which revealed the official logo for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. However, the words “Woman of Tomorrow” are nowhere to be found in the logo, suggesting that, like Superman before it, the DCU movie has dropped its subtitle.

James Gunn’s forthcoming Superman movie was originally announced under the title Superman: Legacy. However, by the time production on the DCU movie began in February 2024, the title had been shortened to Superman, with Gunn explaining, “When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN.”
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow derives its title from the 2022 comic book series by Tom King, which follows a 21-year-old Kara Zor-El as she travels across the galaxy with Krypto, during which she meets a young girl named Ruthye and goes on a murderous quest for revenge, for the big screen.
Ana Nogueira adapted the miniseries for the big screen, with Craig Gillespie directing Milly Alcock in the title role. The cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts as antagonist Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
Supergirl is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026, as the second film of the DCU.
