Suits Already Revealed The Best Name For Harvey & Donna’s Surprise Son In Suits LA Episode 9

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Suits LA episode 9, “Bat Signal.”
Suits LA episode 9 revealed that Harvey and Donna have a son, but while the show doesn’t reveal his name, Suits already set up the best possible option for it. Wrapping up Gabriel Macht’s 3-epsiode arc in the spinoff, “Bat Signal” takes him and Ted Black back to New York to put Pellegrini behind bars once and for all. Despite not having any narrative ties to the original show, series creator Aaron Korsh established ties between Suits LA cast‘s new lead and New York’s former best closer as a way to strengthen the budding universe.
Through flashbacks, Suits LA has revealed that Ted and Harvey go way back. While the original series never mentioned Stephen Amell’s character, let alone feature her, the men were apparently really close — to the point that Harvey continues to have his contemporary’s back until now. His cameo is meant to prop up Ted and the new offshoot, but considering how beloved he is, Harvey’s appearance also has to include some major reveals about his life in Seattle with his wife, Donna Paulsen — an update that has been a long time coming since Suits season 9 wrapped up.
Suits LA Episode 9 Reveals Harvey & Donna Have A Son
The Specters Are Doing Well
In an ideal world, Harvey’s whole team in Seattle would appear in Suits LA. That includes Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, on top of Donna. That said, that isn’t on the cards for the spinoff — at least for now. Instead, Harvey’s appearance is strategically crafted to ensure that viewers know that Ted has his seal of approval. Despite that, Korsh still understands the importance of offering those who loved Suits new information about their favorite legacy characters, and Suits LA episode 9 delivers when it reveals that Harvey and Donna now have a son.

Harvey Specter’s limited role in Suits LA has offered rare but meaningful glimpses into his life after Suits, and episode 9 was no exception.
The NBC spinoff is actually conservative when it comes to incorporating any new information about its legacy characters, so as not to distract from Ted’s case against Pellegrini. Even when pressed about his personal life, Harvey refuses to talk about himself. That said, there are two big updates from him in “Bat Signal.” Firstly, that his brother, Marcus died a few years back from cancer, and more indirectly, that he is now raising a boy with his wife. That said, he refuses to give his name, even though Ted eagerly asks him repeatedly.
Harvey & Donna’s Son’s Best Name Option Is Gordon Specter
Suits LA Doesn’t Confirm The Name Of Harvey & Donna’s Son
Despite the opportunity to make a physical cameo via a videocall, Suits LA episode 9 limits its homage to Harvey’s family through just references. Curiously, however, “Bat Signal” makes a big deal out of the Specters’ son, with Harvey refusing to reveal his name despite being pressed by Ted multiple times. Towards the end of the outing, Macht’s character even jokes that he is named after his Los Angeles counterpart and longtime friend. When Ted calls his bluff, Harvey continues to joke about it, saying that he named the kid after Kevin.
Chances are that Harvey named his son Gordon, after his late father.
Ultimately, however, Suits LA ends Harvey’s arc without revealing his son’s name. Despite that, the original Suits show already set up the best and most likely option for it. Chances are that Harvey named his son Gordon, after his late father. The USA Network series tackled Harvey’s complicated family history by starting with his close bond with his dad — an eternal optimist and jazz musician. To back up this theory, Gordon Sr. also used to call Harvey “my boy,” the same name Donna’s son is saved on his father’s phone.
Will Suits LA Ever Feature Harvey With His Son & Donna?
Suits LA Should Feature The Whole Specter Family
For now, Suits LA‘s only remaining original show cameo is Rick Hoffman’s Louis Litt. It’s unclear when he will pop up or why, but at this point, any familiar face from the Suits cast would be a treat for those who love the legal series. It’s also worth noting that NBC has yet to renew Suits LA for its sophomore year, which is understandable, considering the show is performing significantly below expectations. If it gets picked up for season 2, however, it would have to come up with a justified reason to bring the whole Specter family down to LA.
Staging a cameo is easy, but it would be a waste of opportunity to bring back Macht and Rafferty for an appearance without any narrative reason behind it. There has to be another crisis at Ted or Stuart’s law film that would require not just Harvey’s help, but also Donna. Despite the latter seasons of Suits not doing much for the character, she was one of the most capable players at Pearson Hardman. It would be great to see her use her ability in Suits LA.
