We finally know when Family Guy will be making its way back to the screen. Fox has announced that the acclaimed animated comedy series will return on May 29 at 9 PM. The summer schedule might seem unusual for long-time fans, but this is only due to live sports taking over Sunday nights for the season. The Griffin family will be seen on Thursdays in the meantime. Once the major sports seasons are over, animated comedies will return to the spot on the schedule they have held over the course of many years. The summer won’t be the same thanks to one of the most beloved families on television.

Family Guy follows Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) and the adventures he goes through with his family. Besides creating the series that has been on the air for decades, Seth MacFarlane also voices several of the characters who entertain audiences with unpredictable action and contemporary humor. The rest of the Girffin family includes Meg (Mila Kunis), Lois (Alex Borstein) and Chris (Seth Green). These characters never fail to keep viewers on the edge of their seats with their sense of humor and the personalities that have allowed them to become a part of television history.

Over the years, Family Guy has managed to become relevant in pop culture. The animated series is in the process of launching its twenty-third season, which will include a parody of The White Lotus. The acclaimed HBO series depicts several mysteries that take place in the titular luxurious vacation resorts around the world. It’s time for Family Guy to put its own spin on the series that has taken over the Primetime Emmy Awards in such a short amount of time.

Family Guy won’t be the only popular animated series making its way back to the screen this summer. Fox has announced that Bob’s Burgers will also return on May 29. The series created by Loren Bouchard will air an hour earlier than the Griffin family, at 8 PM. After that, The Great North will bring the night to a close at 9:30 PM. Thursdays will become unforgettable for fans of animated comedies aimed at adult audiences. After more than two decades of making the world laugh, the Griffins still have plenty of fuel left in the tanks for more parodies and adventures.

Family Guy returns to Fox on May 29. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
