Nyla clocks Glasser as a serial killer early on, but he isn’t put behind bars until season 7, episode 8. As proven by Oscar and Jason’s escape from prison, none of the show’s villains are out of the game if they’re still alive in the universe. “A Deadly Secret” sees Glasser claim that the drugs found in Westview could absolve him of any alleged crimes.
When speaking with ScreenRant, creator and showrunner, Alexi Hawley, addresses what the loose end could mean. While the villain won’t pose a threat during the remainder of season 7, Hawley is already thinking of a way to further expand the plot in The Rookie season 8. He points out the show’s history of bringing back past actors, sharing that he would like to create a dynamic and dramatic storyline if Glasser goes free. Read Hawley’s full response below:
ScreenRant: Liam Glasser seems to think he’s found a loophole to get out of prison. Is that something we should be concerned about?
Alexi Hawley: I think that’s a really fun idea. I guess to be a little spoilerly, it’s not a season 7 story, but I do think it’s very much in my head for season 8 as to something. He’s such a phenomenal actor, and it’s a great character, and I think we’ve shown we have a history of falling in love with actors and characters and trying to figure out ways to bring them back. I think that the nut to crack is how to make it a dynamic and dramatic storyline if we go down that road.

Shot as a true crime documentary, “A Deadly Secret” focuses on the disappearance of Henry’s ex-fiancée, Abigail. Showrunner Alexi Hawley makes his onscreen return as the characters recount the supernatural series of events that took place at Westview Psychiatric Hospital. Abigail is found locked in the ward, exposed to the chemicals from Dr. Julius Erickson’s human experiments. After she recovers, Abigail continues her Westview documentary and convinces Nolan to abandon Hawley’s project for her own.
