The Vanderpump Villa & The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives Alleged Hook Up Explained (What Happened Between Marciano Brunette & Demi Engemann?)

The second season of Hulu’s Vanderpump Villa just dropped, and it seems as though there’s some unexpected drama between the cast and the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Of course, Vanderpump Villa is helmed by Lisa Vanderpump herself, a veteran of reality show drama, so it shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. Vanderpump Villa season 2 is set in an Italian castle, Castello Rosato, and it sees Lisa and her staff of hospitality pros as they operate the decadent Italian estate in Lisa’s signature style.
Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder is making her highly-anticipated return to reality television on Vanderpump Villa season 2. She’s not the only familiar face in the bunch, as episode 3 saw some of the cast of Hulu’s other smash hit, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, visit the villa. The trip is hosted by Vanderpump Villa‘s Jen Affleck, and she brings her friends Demi Engemann, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, and Mikayla Matthews to adjourn at the villa for a luxurious stay, but their trip might have left a sour taste in some of the staff’s mouths.
Marciano & Demi Bonded While She Visited The Villa With Her Cast
What Happened Between Demi & Marciano?
Vanderpump Villa‘s resident bad boy, Marciano Brunette, took a liking to Demi immediately. Demi has been married to her husband, Brett Engemann, since 2021. There is a large age gap between the two of them, as Demi is 30 and Brett is 46, but the couple make it work.
Demi repeatedly reminded Marciano that she is married, but there was some chemistry between the two of them during her time at the villa.
As soon as the women exit their cars on arrival, bartender Sam jokes to Marciano that he needs to “relax” since they’re all married, setting the tone for what’s to come. Marciano also commented that, “These Mormons are so f*****g hot. Holy s**t.” Marciano started talking about his connection with Demi almost instantly, which is kind of crazy because she literally just entered the house and was being nice to him. She wasn’t flirting, but in Marciano’s mind, her attention equals flirting.
Marciano Misinterpreted Demi’s Kindness
On the Mormon Wives‘ last night at the villa, Marciano decided to take Demi aside for a private chat, which raised eyebrows among the staff. Marciano said he was both physically and emotionally attracted to Demi, but their chat was more about Marciano’s relationship with Hannah Fouch and what went wrong with them. Demi gives him advice, but she uses her own marriage as an example, sharing that she and Brett have had their struggles, mostly due to their age gap.
Marciano asked her if he was overstepping his boundaries by asking Demi if she was “living with regret,” but she brushed him off and said it wasn’t an overstep.
It feels like she’s being nice and trying to relate to Marciano by talking about her own relationship, but Marciano has a crush on Demi, so he’s misinterpreting her words.
Marciano thinks Demi is saying she isn’t happy in her marriage, but that’s not what she meant.
When Marciano said goodbye to Demi, and told her how much she’s taught him in her two days at the villa, she gave him the standard response women give when they don’t know how to respond: “You’re sweet.” In a confessional, Marciano said he planned to contact Demi after he left the villa. Marciano is a little bit delusional.
Marciano & Demi Are No Longer On Speaking Terms
Marciano Said Demi Was “Scared” To Tell Brett The Truth
Things got interesting when Marciano shared a post to Instagram the day before Vanderpump Villa premiered, saying that he wasn’t invited to the premiere because “a 30yo Mormon wife’s scared I’ll tell her husband the truth.” Marciano’s post got a lot of attention, including from former VPR (and friend of Demi’s) Scheana Shay, who commented, “wtf is this.” Marciano replied to Scheana that, “we’ll have to see,” and she replied again, saying, “I don’t think you’re gonna like what you see.”
US Weekly reported that Demi’s husband, Brett, brushed off the drama. He shared his own post, praising Demi for “the amount of nonsense she’s had to endure at the hands of disingenuous and deceitful fools is astounding.” Sounds like Demi and Brett are fine, unless Marciano has receipts to back up his claims.
Vanderpump Villa season 2 is available to stream on Hulu.
