The second season of NCIS: Sydney came to a somewhat satisfying end last weekend, leaving fans curious about the next phase for the fan-favorite special agents. Fortunately, that won’t be the final chapter of the NCIS spin-off as it was renewed for another run earlier in February. With the latest season already concluded and Season 3 in development, creator and showrunner Morgan O’Neill recently sat down with TVLine, gearing viewers up for what’s ahead in the “bigger” installment that features a surprising time jump.
The NCIS: Sydney Season 2 finale aired on Friday, April 25, finally revealing who’s been behind everything all this time, including the unsuspicious person responsible for putting that pacemaker Rankin (Lewis Fitz-Gerald) didn’t need in him. Fans would agree that the season was even more intense than its prequel chapter, and to maintain such consistency, Season 3 will be even more exciting as O’Neill teased:
“Anything I say is going to be a little bit too leading, but I promise you, from all the way down here, Season 3 is going to be way bigger than Season 2.”
That’s not all! The show’s creator mentioned that compared to NCIS: Sydney Season 2, the next season will pick up a little further in the future but not too far. He shared: “It’s later on, but not very much later on. It’s certainly not a continuous pickup like it was for Season 2.” This is clearly unexpected, especially for fans eager to know what happens in Blue’s (Mavournee Hazel) apartment after Season 2 ended with her discovering a mysterious woman waiting for here there.
