Miles Teller to Star in Olympics Movie Winter Games, Director & Writers Revealed

Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller has officially signed on for one of the leading roles in Paramount Pictures‘ upcoming sports romance drama titled, Winter Games, which will take place during the Winter Olympic Games. In addition to starring, Teller is also expected to serve as a producer.

The movie will be directed by Paul Downs Colaizzo, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Pat Cunnane. Tim and Trevor White are producing through their production banner Star Thrower. This marks Teller’s latest collaboration with Cunnane and A24, after working together on the upcoming Eternity movie which will also be led by Elizabeth Olsen.

What is Winter Games about?

“The movie revolves around the high-stakes arena of the Winter Olympic Games, a perpetually overlooked skier and a self-sabotaging hockey legend who collide at their breaking points. Their unexpected connection threatens her chance for a medal and his shot at a comeback as they navigate romance and redemption in the Olympic Village,” reads the official synopsis.

Teller gained recognition for his memorable roles in Damien Chazelle’s award-winning drama Whiplash, in the Divergent film franchise, and in Paramount Pictures’ blockbuster Tom Cruise sequel Top Gun: Maverick. He was most recently seen in Apple Studios’ sci-fi action horror movie The Gorge, with Anya Taylor-Joy. He will also next be seen playing John Branca in Lionsgate’s upcoming Michael Jackson biopic. At the moment, the Divergent alum is also currently attached to star in the remake of the 1982 classic movie An Officer and a Gentleman.
