Ben Affleck recently mentioned that he wished he could have been in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey, while also listing some of his favorite directors ever.

Who did Ben Affleck say were his favorite directors?

In a new video for Complex’s “GOAT Talk” series, Affleck and his The Accountant 2 co-star Jon Bernthal talked about what the greatest thing of all time across a variety of topics were. One of the questions asked the pair what the greatest movie they weren’t in, but should have been was.

While Affleck and Bernthal didn’t name a specific movie, Affleck did say that he would’ve liked to be in several movies that he wasn’t. While Bernthal name dropped Affleck’s The Town, Affleck said that he would’ve loved to be in Nolan’s upcoming movie, which stars Bernthal and Affleck’s friend, Matt Damon.

“There’s a lot of movies that you see and go ‘Damn, I wish I was in that movie,’” said Affleck. “I wish I was in the [Christopher] Nolan movie. That’s one where I’m like ‘Mm, I would love to be in that movie.’”

Later in the video, the pair are asked who their greatest director of all time is. Affleck once again said there were simply too many to name one. He did, however, list off several of some of his favorites, including Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, David Fincher, Steven Spielberg, and more.

“I feel like that’s not one where there’s a GOAT,” Affleck said. “It’s like, what is that person interested in? What’s their style? Their approach? It’s not just like GOAT quarterback, did you win the football game, it’s a different thing.”
