Wondering whether new episodes of Chicago Fire, Med, and P.D. will premiere tonight in their regular slots? All One Chicago shows typically take a short hiatus between episodes, either for production purposes or to temporarily give up their place for a special event. Following this, many are eager to know whether a new episode will come out on April 30 or if a delay could be expected. So, here are the details.

Will NBC air a new episode of Chicago Fire, Med, PD tonight on April 30?

NBC will air no new episode of Chicago Fire, Med, and P.D. on April 30. Instead, the network will air its reruns.

According to TV Insider‘s listings, the 8:00 -11:00 PM slot of One Chicago shows on April 30 will be occupied by reruns of old episodes. Here’s the episode that could be expected:

  • Chicago Med: Season 10 Episode 6- “Forget me Not” (8:00 PM)
  • Chicago Fire: Season 13 Episode 6 – “Birds of Prey” – (9:00 PM)
  • Chicago P.D.: Season 12 Episode 6 – “Pawns” – (10:00 PM)

Networks, including NBC, generally take breaks between seasons to ensure a smooth run of the show till May, when most seasons come to an end. Now, these breaks could be for various factors, but mainly two reasons are most common.

First, they take a short break to give creatives additional time to complete the upcoming episodes and ensure quality. Secondly, an important event/programming/show takes its time slot, which leads to the delay of new episodes. However, this time, the postponement appears to be for the first reason, given that the network is rerunning the One Chicago show’s episodes. NBC has yet to address the temporary hiatus.

Nevertheless, fans need not worry as all the series are expected to return next week, May 7, and will air on their usual timeslot. Initially, fans can catch up on the shows on NBC. Further, it also runs on Peacock. However, the service doesn’t offer a free trial, so a valid plan is needed to access its library.
